Overview

His second EP in six months, Echo finds Korean pop star Jin firing on all cylinders. It's so fun and refreshing that it feels like a tease at just seven songs. Kicking off with effervescent, '80s-styled anthems ("Don't Say You Love Me" and the soaring "Nothing Without Your Love"), Echo switches gears on "Loser" with YENA, an energetic pogo-bounce riot, and the country-dusted saloon jam "Rope It," complete with Wild West harmonica and some hoedown fiddle. Nostalgic pop/rock power cuts through "With the Clouds" and "To Me, Today," while the power ballad "Background" is so catchy and moving it could easily soundtrack a popular K-drama. Much like fellow BTS pop-lover Jimin, Jin's music works so well -- regardless of producer or genre -- because his emotions are so convincingly conveyed with his beautiful vocal range.
