Well aside from trying to igore all the grammatical errors that writer Melissa Lynne missed and her sleeping editor obviously didn't catch, I forced my way through to the end if this story. I honestly think any college Composition 101 student could have written this. The idea was so run-of-the-mill and even the language that was used by the southern gentleman of that time was totally off. I mean who in 1863 South Carolina would say "Thanks a lot". or "I feel like death warmed over". come on! The main character Marissa (oooh, fancy that, the writer changed one letter of her own name) is supposed to be this strong, nurse from the twenty first century with today's progressive tone and all, but she turns out to be such a wimp I could hardly stand her. And although the author wanted Dr. Craig Langston to be this strong, male figure, I think she went overboard in all her claims of him....he is 6'5" tall, built like a god with a rock hard body, flowing blond hair, bright blue eyes, a doctor, a gun-slinging cowboy, and an officer in the Army in his handsome uniform... its just a little much. And just when you really want to fall for him, he turns into a major drinker. Then whines when he has a hangover... The whole story was a letdown and I would not recommend it to anyone. Note to Ms. Lynne.... you need to find a really good editor.

Loved it. 200 pages, well written, sex scenes minimal and relevent to the story. I was DISAPOINTED though that the second book in the series is NOT avsilable on Nook!

I think the basic idea of the story line was great, but I was really disappointed that the author is not capable of telling a story without using the unnecessary amount of swearing. As a Christian I would never purchase anything by this author. All I can say is "shame on YOU". An author with real talent could write a great book without degrading themselves with this amount of unacceptable language. NO I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND THIS BOOK OR AUTHOR TO ANYONE?
