This book is interesting to read and fascinating to look at, with it's many small drawings of scenery and details of Franklin's life on every page.  Its large, flat, thin format is similar to that of a picture book, but the text is informative for readers of any age.  I relearned much that I had forgotten, or had never known, about this amazing, very talented  American statesman.  Franklin's flamboyant amorous  life-style in Europe is omitted, or barely hinted at, thus making this book suitable for  reading by children. This does not  detract from the fact that Benjamin Franklin was a remarkable figure in American  history. Electric Ben is an attractive book, inviting to read, and would make a nice gift for a middle school age child. I have given it to a third grader.  I would enthusiastically recommend it to eight to twelve year old readers.
