Violet must find out who she really is-and exactly what she is capable of-before the abilities the angels gave her are turned against them. She is all that stands between the forces of good and evil.

Simply put, this series ending novel is all I could have hoped for and more. We catch up with Violet after she has been living in London for a year. After constantly moving with her parents, Violet decides to go off on her own and stumbles upon a group of Rogues who quickly take her in. With the exception of Gray, whom we met in Emblaze while they were in Santorini, the Rogues are unaware of who Violet really is - "the chick everyone's been whispering about the past two years." Violet is merely living day to day, and thanks to Phoenix's essence, is able to keep the pain of not being with Lincoln at bay. Essentially, she is emotionless. It's not until she learns that Spence has been taken (by the mysterious bald guy that took her blood at the end of Endless) that Violet realizes that you can't truly run away from your problems. It's been less than a year since I read Endless, but I truly missed each and every one of these characters. And I'm going to miss them. I was equally as excited as Violet when she reunites with Steph, Dapper, Zoe, Onyx, etc. and equally nervous when she and Lincoln have their first contact. The tension between Violet and Lincoln is also wonderfully done. Jessica doesn't give it all to us at once, but dangles their relationship in front of us - just out of reach. I'll admit that I wasn't a fan of Lincoln in the beginning of the series, but I am firmly a believer in the love between these two characters. Jessica doesn't just make you feel for her characters, she completely inserts you into the story. You feel as if you are a member of these tight friendships and privy to the deepest secrets. You root for Lincoln and Violet, feel for Phoenix, want to punch the Assembly when they're acting like an asshat. Okay, that's not fair . . . the only real asshat is Drenson. One of my favorite additions to the group was Gray. Gray is there for Violet and knows about her past and he does what he can to help her. He taught her how to hold up her shields and is an amazing friend to Violet, both while she was on her own and after she returns. While I missed Spence throughout the novel, Gray was a great substitute. I hate to use the word substitute because he is so much more than that. The best way I can describe him is a perfect combination of Spence and Griffin. From the moment Violet comes back to New York, things are on the move. There is not a dull moment at any point in the series and, like me, you cannot put this book down. Not only is it the last of an amazing series, but each chapter ending leaves you hungering for more. Even if it's not a cliffhanger: can't stop won't stop.  An engaging plot, wonderful characters, a griping romance Empower is above and beyond an amazing novel from an amazing series. If you haven't started The Violet Eden Chapters or have yet to catch up, you absolutely need to - it's the perfect series to binge read. I can wholeheartedly without a doubt recommend this series to each and every reader. I am also insanely jealous of those of you who get to read it for the first time, but you can bet your bottom dollar I will reread this series again and again.

What an incredible ending to a wonderful series. Two years later you see Violet Eden going through life after leaving partner/soul-mate Lincoln. I cried at the end of this book because I did not want it to end whatsoever. Such an amazing series!

This full review is NON SPOILER for THE WHOLE SERIES  I want to thank Raincoast publishing for introducing me to this amazing series. In all honesty I wouldn't have ever picked it up if I didn't receive Embrace for review over two years ago. I was introduced to such amazing characters.. ones I grew attached to with each new book and truly cared about their well beings. Evil characters turned good and good characters turned evil. Shirvington didn't hold back at all, and I loved it so much. You just never knew what to expect and the direction of the plot line was never guessed. Even with Empower.. the fifth and last book in this series, I honestly wasn't able to imagine how the plot line will end and what will happen to the characters. I laughed and cried with and for these characters as well as cursed at them for how stupid they were acting but at the same time hugged them (in my mind) for all the good they wanted to do and just are. The Violet Eden Chapters series is the one series that showed me that paranormal books aren't just cliche after cliche, but can have a solid plot line with crazy crap happening and take you for a thrilling ride. This is the Violet Eden Chapters series.  Violet.. has grown SO much over the past couple of books. You can truly see how much stronger, more independent she is.. how much of a leader she could be and all the potential that she's finally started to tap into. Violet is one of the most kick butt female protagonists that have never frustrated me.. her and I seemed to be so in synch and I was always cheering her on with whatever her decisions were.. I could always understand them and I loved her. We've got Linc.. and he is one of the most perfect book boyfriends ever. He is the other half of Violet.. they both became better people when they were together and it was a mutual thing. There's also Phoenix and his story is so complicated but I have to say that by the end of this whole series.. I have come to understand him.. I can't say anything extra without giving away any spoilers. We also have the secondary characters that I would have loved to have as my best friends. Honestly Violet was blessed with such amazing friends!  Moving into the plot.. that was one hell of a plot.. for both Empower and the whole series. Like I mentioned above, Shirvington knew how to take such an overused idea, angels, exiles, etc, and turn it into something unique and thrilling and memorable. This is when you know if an author is talented or not and Shirvington is one hell of a talented writer! Writing a 5 book series (where the last four books are 450+ pages) without making the readers feel like there are fillers or an overextended plot is a skill. So many people have been complaining about a currently beloved famous series being too long but I can say with confidence that I never felt that way with this series. Every single book, chapter, and page had its purpose.. every scene too. Honestly I would have been totally happy if there was a 6th book! maybe a spin off? *waves at Jessica Shirvington* Basically, all I can say is to PLEASE pick up this series.. give the first AND second book a try because the second book, Entice, is when I truly started loving this series. It is hard saying bye to these characters which is why I put off writing this review.. because that's the final goodbye.. so.. I guess this is it. I will be tuning into any new releases by Shirvington because.. well you should know by now why :)

Gah, how did Violet go away for 2 years?!? 2 years without Lincoln!?! I knew she needed to figure out things at the end of the last book but I didn’t realize it was going to be that much of a time period. Lol anyway, I thought it was a fabulous way to end the series. It was intense, sad, funny, swoon worthy, and surprising. I liked - *Violet finding out who her angel maker was *Phoenix totally redeeming himself in many ways *Violet and Lincoln. Swoon. *Two groups of grigori coming together *So many funny moments especially with Gray *Violet’s gifts grew to more awesome *Steph still being the awesome BFF

This is now one of my favorite book series! Absolutely amazing story lines and characters. I felt every joy, embarrassment, panic and pain Violet went through. It's bitter sweet that it had to end and I can only hope and pray that more books in this world will come to pass.

I don’t even know where to start with this review.  My love for this series is undying.  From the moment I read Embrace, book 1 in The Violet Eden series, to the very last page of Empower, the last book in this installment, I knew I was reading something that would be unlike anything I have ever read.  For reals… So when I got the ARC for Empower, I knew that I had to put everything else on the back burner and dive head first into this book.  I was surely not disappointed and am where I am now…not sure where to start with the review. Should I tell you that I cried?  Duhr…I cried so much!  I cried in the early chapters and I cried right to the bitter end.  Not the single tear type crying…oh no, no, no.  It was the ugly crying.  The mouth turned down, quivering lips, scrunched up eyes, trying to be silent type of cry.   Empower broke my heart over and over and over again…and like a fool, I didn’t turn away.  I continued with the emotional pain.  It was the best time I’ve had in a long time. Empower by Jessica Shirvington opens up with action, baby.  Oh yah.  It’s two years later, and Violet is more bad ass.  She’s gone rogue and her abilities are insane.  I’ve always loved her character and in this final installment, I loved her even more.  The sacrifices she makes now and the sacrifices she made in the past all come full circle.  Whether or not it’s going to bite her in the butt is one you’ll have to find out for yourself. Even though we see her kick some serious butt, we also see that her hard, cold exterior is all hiding what’s really going on inside of her.  Because of what happened in Endless, between her and Lincoln, Violet is suffering every dang day with a broken soul.  And how exactly is she surviving?  By putting up her walls.  It also doesn’t hurt that some of Phoenix’s powers that leaked to her is helping with this bit. But an unexpected visit from her past forces Violet to face those she left behind.  Something is happening…something big…something pretty epic, and Violet must now travel back to New York and back to the Academy to figure out a way to save those she loves.  But going back also means facing the one person that kills her inside…Lincoln. There’s so much more that I want to say!  There’s so much more that needs to be said!  But saying it would give away too much…and I don’t want to ruin any part of this book for you, dear readers.  Let’s just say that there is mucho sacrificing going on in this book.   And I shed mucho tears over these sacrifices. With Empower being the last book, of course we’re gonna see deaths and seeing goodbyes.  It’s inevitable, right?  Ughhhh!  If I could turn back time, and read this book again, I would slow down and absorb it all even more.  I wouldn’t rush so that I could see what happens next.  I would go with the moment.  Because this book was amazeballs.  Seriously!  The characters, both old and new, are unforgettable, and will always be unforgettable. The author does an amazing job of getting the readers to connect with the characters that every little thing that happens feels like it’s happening to a friend, or someone you know.  The way in which she dragged out certain events without disclosing a name until the very end and it rips out your heart was done perfectly.  I was guessing and guessing trying to figure who got hurt or worse…and then BAM(!), she just rips your heart out…and stomps on it.  I was inconsolable for a little bit during a certain part, and had to put the book down.  I just had a few pages left to go, but I just had to step away… And my continuing struggle with who I crushed on more?  Lincoln or Phoenix?  Dudes, I was flip flopping like a fish out of water.  I hearted Lincoln, but then Phoenix does or says something (again!) and I’m back to Team Phoenix… Gosh these two boys were making my head spin! I would recommend this entire series to fans of CW television series like Vampire Diaries, for example.  It is an angel read like no other, and you will not regret any moment.  Strong female lead, sexy bad boy, soul mates with a destiny…The Violet Eden series has it all.

Truly five stars! I don't give a lot of five stars because I am author too and sometimes when I read I feel I would have liked to seen the book go a different direction. But Jessica wove such an inticing plot line, character build and concept that this book  and series -deserves  this review. So previous comments gave overviews of the book based on specifics of the book- I will give my opinion to bring balance. When we meet Violet again and it's 2 years later I was a little apprehensive. But soon I found mysle flipping pages  (reading as fast as I could) just to see what happens next. I was immediately thrown back into her world like I never waited 6 months for this book release. The writing is fluid, the characters are lovabel (or hateable), and I simply didin't want it to end. Jessica creastes a world that is memorable and captivates the audience from the first few chaptersnof the first book.  All loose ends are tied up (or lossened- haha) and the story progresses to an end the only way it can.  Be prepared to laugh, cry and maybe even rage a little. I seriously couldn't put it down. I stayed up until 4am justr to finish the highly intense last 5 chapters. If you love the good 'ol battel between good and evil. If you love seeing the boy get the girl, the girlnfinally accepting her strength amd worth and can't live without epic battle scenes- this is the book for you. I enjoyed it soooooo much- and I really hope you do too.
