What People are Saying About This

From the Publisher

“This book explains the interrelationships between an eastern interpretation of suffering and the Christian interpretation, with its conviction that there is both purpose and meaning in the hardships of life. Best of all, this book shows that if we suffer well, we shall be amply rewarded. No matter how much you have read about suffering, this book will give you a fresh perspective on the problem of suffering that has plagued philosophers and theologians throughout the centuries. You will be blessed with both hope and courage during those dark times when our faith is tried.”

—Erwin W. Lutzer, Pastor Emeritus, Moody Church, Chicago

"Paul reminds us that suffering produces endurance which, in turn, produces character and then hope. Kenny Damara deftly examines suffering and endurance without losing his focus on Christ and the hope we have in him. Further, having lived in both India and the U.S., he’s able to explore the Eastern practices and beliefs that have permeated the West. Take your time as you read this book, and ask God to show you those areas in your own life where you might have fallen prey to the ignorance, escapism, or illusion he exposes."

— Karl ‘KJ' Johnson, Director, C.S. Lewis Institute, Chicago
