What Would You Do If a Secret Was Causing Your Family to Crumble?

Is there a secret terrible enough that it should never be revealed, not even if it was tearing a family apart? For more than five decades Emma Bauer has kept one—carefully guarding it with all her strength, and for more than five decades that choice has haunted her life and also the lives of her daughters and granddaughter. Is it too late for wrongs to be righted? Does Emma even have the strength to let the healing power of truth work in her family?

The story of four generations of women and the powerful effects that their choices have had on their lives is at the heart of Eve's Daughters, an epic novel from author Lynn Austin. Grand in scope but tender and personal at the same time, it will please you as a fan of contemporary or historical fiction.

Exploring times from World War I to the 980s, Eve's Daughters is an insightful look at mothers, daughters, sisters, and families that allows you to see a little bit of yourself through the characters' triumphs, struggles, and hard-tested faith.

Yearning for love, dignity, and freedom, the four generations of women must come to terms with the choices they have made. Healing comes when the past is forgiven but only when they embrace God's forgiveness can they shatter the cycle that has ruled their lives over the decades.

A heart-warming, intergenerational tale of remembrance. Readers will love this story about four generations of women by a noted, talented author.

In Lynn Austin's, Eve's Daughters, you become so enchanted and consumed by their life stories that you don't want the novel to end.  The character development is amazing and though each woman is her own person, with varied personalities I loved each of them.  Their blessings. dreams, resilience, strengths and struggles are so relatable that Ms. Austin gives us a vision into the life of a woman, for we are all Eve's daughters. This is a very well written Christian novel, one that their beliefs are a part of their story but not unrealistic and fluffy by any means.  In my opinion, everyone would love this story regardless of their faith or lack their of. This book is a treasure, great historical fiction and a story that I will always remember.

This was the first Lynn Austin book I read. I have since read many others of hers and very much enjoyed them all, but Eve's Daughters is still my favorite.

Eve's Daughters by Lynn Austin is one of the best books that I have ever read! I don't have much time to read books and often times I fall asleep while trying to read, howevever this book definitely peaked my interest in starting to read all over again. Although, at first, it took me some time to get accustom to the writing style I finally caught on to who was telling what story in the events that occurred. I have never read a book that caused so many emotions in me and all from one book. I got angry, I laughed, I cried, and I felt things that I couldn't believe I could feel just from reading a book. I also felt compassion and lack of compassion at times. I imagined what was, what could have been and the sense of romance or lack thereof but whatever the emotion and feeling I was left with the lingering thoughts of what occurred in each persons life and I began to reflect on my own life and my response to my own experiences and situations. I've read until the wee hours of the morning, despite the fact that I had to go to work the next day. I even woke up in the middle of the night at times, not feeling very sleepy only to find myself picking up this book, yet once again. This book was suggested through a book club started at my church and I have already recommended this book to several of my friends and to my sister who also read, enjoyed and felt a lot of the same emotions I did when reading Eve's Daughters. I strongly recommend this book to everyone! This book keeps one's interest, entices one to continue reading and keeps the suspense going until the very end. There is also a spiritual aspect that again caused me to reflect on life. Happy Reading to all who make the decision to read this book.

This is one of the best books I have read in an extremely long time. I love Lynn Austin, and this is my favorite by her! I became so emotionally attached to the book that I did not want to put it down. A definite must-read.

I really enjoyed how the author entwined several generations. Found the characters interesting. I rated only four stars because of the need for better editing.

For me Lynn is a super master story teller! Her characters are SO real and you feel like you know them from the start -- authors who can do THAT are the best. ALL of her books are great but the generational novels are my favorite. After you read this -- be sure to read "All She Ever Wanted". OK Lynn -- write faster!!

This was the first book of Lynn Austin's that I read. It is excellent. It's about 4 generations of women in the same family who are more alike than they could ever imagine. It is well-written and easy to read. I had trouble putting this one down.

Lynn Austin is an excellent writer!!! This story is thought provoking, touching, challenging and emotional as it touches on subjects such as women's roles seen through the eyes of women in different generations, the choices they made and why, what was the end result for them as well as for the following generation. The major characters are mother, daughter, and grandaughter in their rolls as wives and mothers as well as how the Lord influenced their lives and decisions. This book begins in Germany in the late 1800's and ends in America in 1980.

Impressive story of redemption and forgiveness. Very few books have ever touched me like this one. Lynn Austin has been blessed with a unique writing style that grabs ahold of you from the very first chapter and doesn't let go until long after you finish reading the entire novel. I'm not sure if this was the authors intent when penning this story, but she has helped me to look at my marriage differently (in a good way) and inspired me to do more to be a better wife. The women in this book bring with them, a perspective based on what time period they were raised, how they were reared, and how their decisions and circumstances shaped who they became. It is a story of choices and the consequences of each one. I was so impressed by what I read, and learned, that I am adding this novel to my keeper shelf to be read again and again. If you are searching for answers, are having trouble understanding your marriage, or how important forgiveness is, this book will surely help in many ways.

I read this book some time ago upon the recommendation of my daughter (who is an avid christian fiction reader). I had asked her to recommend a good book but not the cheesy, predictable type stories often found in christian fiction. She recommended this one as one of her most favorite books and she was right on the mark. The book has been shared with other family and friends (some reading it multiple times) because it simply touches your soul. Lynn's writing captures and conveys the setting and emotion of the story in such a personal way that one really does experience the book. One of my favorite things about her writing is her wit and humor woven throughout the story. You will smile often, laugh, and cry. It is truly an book to experience.

I agree with all the other reviewers -- Lynn is an excellent writer. Christian fiction used to be very watered down AND sappy romantic stuff -- real NOVEL readers want something with substance. This is my first Austin book -- now I will look for all the others!

Between my mother and myself we have given or suggested this book to about 15 women and all of them have loved it and given it to thier friends and mothers. I just can not say enough about this great book. YOU MUST READ THIS BOOK. No matter what your age, religion, lifestyle you will love this book.

After reading Eve's Daughters- which I couldn't put down unit the final page was turned- I got my hands on every novel of hers¿ that I could. I must say that I am not Christian, and I found this book by accident, but I could not believe how I got into this book. I say, get your hands on this book if you can, it is one read that you will never forget or regret reading.
