About the Author

Nathan Charles Sollish was born October 5, 1949, in Los Angeles, California. At the age of five, he accompanied his father and two brothers to Brooklyn, New York, where he resided until 1966 when he joined the US Army's 1st Infantry Division. He was Honorably Discharged after serving four years which included a nine-month tour in Germany and a year tour in Vietnam for the entire 1968 Tet Offensive.
After the military, he married and lost a son at a very young age due to the poison his body absorbed while in Vietnam that passed to his son's frail, newborn body. His son, Aaron William Sollish, died at a young three months of age. Shortly thereafter, his marriage dissolved.
From then on, Nathan learned how to play the guitar and harmonica, simultaneously. As an instrumentalist, he travelled the country, playing clubs, taverns, concerts, and concert houses. Through the years, he maintained his life on a meager income playing music and doing odd jobs. In 1977 he landed a cable TV show in Honolulu, Hawaii, called Music Session. Later that year, he decided to meet one of his brothers who was getting out of the Marines and move to Oregon where he continued playing music and doing odd jobs, and studying metaphysical meditations. He lived in the foothills along the McKenzie River until the 1990s when he purchased a home near the river.
