A British ex-pat who grew up an hour outside of London, Lisa attended Calvary Chapel Bible College where she met her husband. He's from California, but nobody's perfect. It wasn't until her Bible College graduation that she figured out she was a writer (someone told her). Since then she's taken the Apprentice and Journeyman writing courses with the Christian Writers Guild, and discovered a penchant for high-stakes stories of mayhem and disaster where you can find made-for-each-other love that always ends in happily ever after. Lisa can be found in Idaho wearing either flip-flops or cowgirl boots, depending on the season. She leads worship with her husband at their local church. Together they have two kids and an all black Airedale known as The Dark Lord Elevator.

Expired Refuge is a scintillating suspenseful novel. After being involved in a harrowing takedown which included the use of deadly force, injured ATF agent, Mia Tathers, returns to her childhood home from which she left after an accident claimed the life of her older sister several years ago. She has always blamed Conroy Jones for the death of her sister, and he is now on the police force and in a position to soon become chief of police. When strange things begin to occur, Mia discovers her remaining sister is involved with a drug dealer whose brother Mia killed in the takedown, and he is determined to exact his revenge. Meanwhile, Mia learns she has misplaced blame for the accident and needs to come to terms with her bitterness and work with Conroy for her own safety. Conroy cares for Mia and is determined to protect her, but will he be able to do this against such a staunch opponent? Mia eventually begins to acknowledge her true feelings for Conroy, but they must somehow survive their current situation if they are to have any kind of future. I highly recommend this book and look forward to the next one in this series.
