Fading by Cindy Cipriano

Leath Elliott is a seventeen-year-old competitive shooter living with her mother in Woodvine, North Carolina. Leath's father was killed in a tragic accident when she was fourteen, and her friend Victor Santana has been there for her every step of the way since. But the friendship starts to change when Victor develops deeper feelings for her. If that wasn't complicated enough, newcomer James Turner, an emancipated minor with a dark past, wanders into her sights. Leath is captivated by him and wonders if he might be the boy of her dreams—literally.

Fading is the first book in an exciting new fantasy romance series by award-winning author Cindy Cipriano.

About the Author

Cindy Cipriano lives in North Carolina with her husband, son, and their twenty-seven pets.

Not really.

Just three dogs who think they are children and three cats who think they are raccoons. It only seems as if they make twenty-seven. When Cindy isn't writing, she enjoys spending time with her family and the avoidance of cooking.

Fading, The Fading Series Book One, (Clean Teen Publishing) releases in 2018. This is the first in a three-four book series in which seventeen-year-old Leath Elliott wonders if the new boy in town is literally the boy of her dreams.

Cindy's Miller's Island Mysteries series is described as innovative in blending science and fantasy. Eighth graders, Grace and Jack, travel through time solving mysterious science events. Miller's Island Mysteries #1 The Case of the Toxic River (Vulpine Press) released in August 2017. MIMS #1 is the first in an eleven-book series.
Cindy's first novel, The Circle, Book One of The Sidhe (2013), won the 2014 Moonbeam Children's Book Silver Award for Pre-Teen Fiction – Fantasy. Other titles in the series include The Choice, Book Two of The Sidhe (2015), and The Lost, Book Three of The Sidhe (2017). Look for The Secret, Book Four of The Sidhe to release in May 2018. The series follows Calum, Laurel, and Hagen from middle through high school as they first rescue Calum's kidnapped cousin, and then save the Otherworld from dark Sidhe. This series is published by Odyssey Books.

Cindy's article, Level Up Intrinsic Motivation, was published in the JOURNAL OF INTERDISCIPLINARY LEADERSHIP in 2016 and two of her short stories were published in the Children's anthology, Doorway to Adventure (2010).

I couldn't put this book down! I bought Fading from a book signing event at Barnes and Nobel from author Cindy Cipriano, an enthusiastic but very humble author. This unsuspecting book captured me at page one! I found myself prying the book from my fingers only long enough to complete nessassary mundane work, all the while thinking about the fascinating and mysterious plot and well developed characters! The writers style is exciting and has an natural flow that makes reading this book so enjoyable. I highly recomend Fading, the first in this YA fantasy series! I simply can't wait to devour book #2!

Loved this story. It flows with the kind of magic teenagers will especially appreciate, regarding falling in love, friendship, surviving jealousy and moving ahead into the adult world. At the same, time it is full of a wonderful type of fantasy and mystery that reveals itself slowly and then in a whoosh. But what was most enjoyable for me were these very distinctive characters, finding their way through the minefields of high school, meeting and overcoming challenges of the heart that lead them deeper into the central plot of the story. It is a rich story and holds a great deal of drama that rang true for me.

I’ll try to write this without giving away spoilers. This is a book that touches the soul. It is so uniquely written. It reached down into the heart of me. It reminds me of loved ones I’ve lost, yet they are still with me. Especially when I have dreams that are so real about them. What if all your life you’ve dreamed of someone and remember vaguely having shared a friendship from as far back as you can remember when you were a child? As if fate really does play a role in who becomes part of our lives. This is what I see Leath going through in this book. I can’t explain it very well because I don’t want to ruin anything. I really wish it would be made into a movie because it would be wonderful. It reminds me of Twilight in a way except better and has a uniqueness of its own. I was town between team Victor and team James. I really loved both characters. In fact, every character in the book was wonderful. The author paints them so well that you feel like they are truly people you know and care about.

My daughter really loved this book. She read it through in one sitting and can't wait for the next book. Thank you to the author for keeping her enthralled.

Tightly written, fast paced story of first passion. The thrill of being in love. I could relate to those feelings and also being in the shoes of Victor, in the friend zone. Bought a copy for a young friend. She loved it. Read it almost in one weekend. Keep them coming Cindy!

This is a great book for those who love teen paranormal fantasy stories. Cindy Cipriano remarkably weaves both plot and characters together to grab your attention and take you on a journey of intrigue, love, suspense, and paranormal behavior. The pace of the story keeps you engaged as you gain a new insight on the power of love, loss, and alternate reality.

I loved this book! Couldn’t put it down once I started reading....even stayed up late reading, which I never do! The characters and story line were easy to connect with and I would highly recommend this book for teenagers and adults. The concept of the story is pretty amazing and I am looking forward to the next book in the series!! Wendy S.
