About the Author

Kathi Harper Hill has lived in the Appalachian Mountains of North Georgia all her life. She says Appalachia is her first language, English, her second!

“I love living in the town where I grew up. There is a certain comfort in being surrounded by familiar faces and knowing the area like the back of my hand. I’m a very rooted person, as my family goes back here for several generations. A good vacation to me is spending time on the back porch.”

She finds herself drawn to writing about southern characters who recognize their need for God. “Whether they look to Him first or at last, I enjoy the journey it takes them in their lives as their stories unfold in front of me as I write.”

Kathi has been writing since the age of ten. She remembers getting into trouble at school because she passed her stories around, page by page, while she furiously wrote during class. ”I was a very popular author until I got caught!”

Besides loving to write (and read), her other interests are teaching Bible Study, interior design, and music. She has been a soloist since the age of fourteen.

After a career in the mental health field, she and her family agreed on her early retirement a few years ago, to take care of health issues and to finish raising their daughter.

Kathi lives in her dream home, a Victorian Cottage, with her husband, David, their daughter, Anna Kate, American Bulldog, Molly, and The Great White Cat, Frost.
