Famished: An Ash Park Novel (#1) by Meghan O'Flynn

A #1 AMAZON BESTSELLER

A macabre poem scrawled in blood. A girl with a secret. And a ruthless killer who'll stop at nothing to find her.

"Thrilling, emotional, and depraved, with twists and turns you don't see coming."
~Kristen Mae, bestselling author of Red Water

"Fearless, smart writing and a plot that will stick with you."
~Beth Teliho, award-winning author of Order of Seven

STARVATION TAKES MANY FORMS

Ash Park, a run-down suburb of Detroit, might not be the most idyllic place to live, but for Hannah Montgomery, it's safe. At least, it feels that way until a serial killer starts dicing up women from the shelter where she volunteers.

Despite the ever-present tingling at the nape of her neck, Hannah manages to convince herself that the killings have nothing to do with her brutal past--until her boyfriend is murdered in the same ruthless manner as the others. It doesn't help that the police think she might have done it.

But the cops are right about one thing: Hannah is responsible. Because she knows who the killer is. Now she must face the fact that she brought a monster with her to Ash Park--and his appetite for blood is insatiable.

Everyone's hungry for something.

Some are more famished than others.

Dark, gritty, and raw, Famished is an emotional roller coaster and an electrifying debut from bestselling author Meghan O'Flynn. If you like Chelsea Cain, James Patterson, or Caroline Kepnes, you'll LOVE Famished, the first book in the Ash Park series.

About the Author

Meghan O’Flynn is a clinical therapist, writer, artist, wife, and mom. She adores her amazing little boys, dark chocolate, tea, dirty jokes, and back rubs with no strings attached, in that order. Meghan is the bestselling author of the Ash Park series—which includes Famished, Conviction, Repressed, Hidden and Redemption—and has penned a number of short stories including “Crimson Snow” and "Alien Landscape." She is frankly amazed that her wonderful husband still agrees to live with her after reading them and even more shocked that he seems to sleep soundly.

Famished (Ash Park #1) by Meghan O'Flynn was dark, gritty, and apart from having my heart in a vice, it had me hooked from start to finish. My first read by this author I didn't know what to expect. I just thought I was in for your normal, thriller mystery, like a CSI/Criminal Minds mix... No, no, no.. It was more on the darker side of Criminal Minds. Not only did I get attached to Hannah, I felt for her, somehow connected to her, and, I don't even know what to say or think anymore. Hannah was a good character, like I said I connect with her, and every minute of her hellish life I wish I could have been there to give her a hug, and just, put her in a bubble. Strong in her own right, Hannah was that MC you root for, hope for and just want all the good things for. Damn Meghan O'Flynn, you managed to not only rip out my heart, but just when I thought things were looking up, you ripped it out again and stomped on it. Thanks....Sometimes there are no happy endings, and this book shows us, will for me I felt, it showed the real look at what goes on when trying to catch a killer. The grunt work, the long hours, and the constant feelings of guilt and grief that, you weren't fast, or strong enough. This book will push your emotions, will make you think it will end like your normal TV drama. Be prepared for some gut punching feels, and a good slap to the face. And that my friend is where I leave you, but yes, before I go, I give this book my super high recommendation and my stamp of approval. I will now dive into the next book. What is wrong with me? Good writing that's what Happy Reading -E.A. Walsh

As the victims pile onto Detective Petrosky’s desk, he can’t shake the feeling that everything is connected to Hannah Montgomery, a frightened girl that he can’t help but compare to his dead daughter. But the truth about everything is more complicated that it seems. A gripping story. I received a free copy of this book from AXP books and I voluntarily reviewed it.

Famished: An Ash Park Novel (Volume 1) by Meghan O’Flynn is the first book in her Ash Park Novel Series, which is a great thriller that will knock your socks off. This book definitely keep me guessing, swirling the dark, suspenseful themes and definitely grabbed ahold of me from page one. Getting started on this book was easy, O’Flynn writes a story that is easy to fall into, and before I knew it I was half way into this story and up well passed my bedtime. The character of Hannah initially seemed predictable, but as the story went on she definitely made up for the initial meeting. I think that her story was one that I wasn’t expecting, working at a women’s shelter and with trauma victims. This works for her because of her past, whatever she is hiding from. When her boyfriend is murdered, she becomes the spotlight to those she has been trying ti hide from for too long. The more that Hannah attempts to find out who killed her boyfriend, the more that the serial killer gets closer to her. Will she be able to keep herself save and find out who is coming after those she loves. Will staying in this person’s sights mean getting killed or will the police who think she is the killer keep her safe in the end? This story will keep you on the edge of your seat from beginning to end. There were several twists and turns that I didn’t see coming, O’Flynn really writes in a way that makes the story come to life around you and keeps you guessing as to who the bad guy is. This book will definitely keep you guessing as to the “whodunit” and who you can trust. If you are looking for a great story, from a fantastic author, and series that I can’t wait to see where it goes, pick this one up today and join in. You definitely won’t be disappointed.

Famished was a thrilling 4 star read and book one in the Ash Park series. There are so many characters POV’s it took me a bit to get into the book and know who everyone was. Once I was familiar it was easier to follow. Hannah is hiding, hiding away from someone who is very dangerous. She’s always jumpy and leary of things around her, just when she thought she might be safe her world is flipped upside down. He’s found her. He watches her, he wants her, and he’s about to get his wish. He’s so close and she doesn’t even know it. What will happen when/if he gets his hands on her? There is so much more to this read, you will be on the edge of your seat wondering what's coming next. Each character adds a great element to the story and it seems they have their own little secrets as well. And there is a heck of a twist at the end that will leave you in shock. I can’t wait to read the next book in the series. I will warn that there are some scenes that may be graphic and triggers for some.

Famished An Ash Park Novel by Meghan O'Flynn Famished was an intense novel. The book had me thinking one thing only to throw me for a loop later. Huge twist. I really enjoyed reading it. It is easily a 5 star book. It does have several gruesome scenes where murders are described in detail. It is not for the faint of heart.

Disconected. Story does not flow well. Also VERY hard to get past the unecessary crude, offensive and just nasty language. Could not finish this, which happens once a year out of the 200 books a year I read. Plot seemed interestering, like something I could get into...until It lost me. I gave it 3 stars just beause the aurhor actually wrote a book (something I've aleays wanted to do). The majority of females find the"c "word offensive, but even worse was the'cotton candy' exchange between 2 females at a company picnic. News flash...might happen in a drucken stupier in a bar.

**Explicit violence and sexual situations** Victims being force-fed cockroaches and then eviscerated while still alive, violent rape scenes, self-centered and unredeemable characters (except maybe for the detective), and an unsatisfying ending all made this a very difficult read for me. I kept hoping it would get better, but it never did. As for "twists and turns" in the plot - um, no, there really weren't any that the reader could not foresee (and I am not all the good at guessing "who done it"). The female protagonist is dumb as a box of hair, self-absorbed but lacking any insight, and is a stereotype of a survivor of domestic abuse. Her transformation and sudden increase in intelligence - as she figures out who the murderer is - is completely unbelievable. Her reaction to her attack is even more so. I am glad I didn't pay for this book. I cannot recommend it, unless you really like gratuitous violence and stereotypical characters.

From the first word to the last word; O'Flynn hooks you and pulls you in. Perfectly twisted and captivating, Famished is an addicting read. With characters that are both relate-able and unbelievable, I simply couldn't get enough. Unpredictably gripping, following Hannah Montgomery through this edge-of-your-seat-psychological thriller is a roller-coaster experience. If you're into thrilling, surprising, dark and vibrant tales - this is one for the record books. Start it tonight, you'll have it finished by tomorrow. Gritty and formidable, Ash Park is a character unto-itself; Bravo, Ms. O'Flynn for an amazing debut novel. I cannot wait for more.

Fast-paced, scary, and delightfully sick, with an awesome twist at the end. The characters are incredibly well-developed -- can't wait for more from Meghan O'Flynn.

An expertly written labyrinth of twisted, unpredictable awesomeness! I pride myself on figuring out plot twists...but Famished got me. TWICE. This novel is cunning, delightfully disturbing (

I have too hand it to you all I was quite Impressed with this Book. I have a NOOK Tablet and I am a very busy woman all week with Art,Drama, Dance and after I get home I am finishing projects for my Customers who pay me too do Paintings, Sketches, Sculptures, Molds, Costumes, Jewelry, Hat's and all types of Hair Accessories. Then I have my Hair Clients and Nails Clients/Mani & Pedi/Acrylic & Gel Sets/Sculpt & Micro Fills/{Fills & Nail Art} so yes I would say when do I have time to read? So I Purchased the NOOK Tablet so that it could read for me and too my SURPRISE I found out also that my Cosmetology Clients LOVE IT SO MUCH that I write down the book NAME for my Customers and they're now NOOK Tablet Owners too! But the results of this Book out of 25 Clients was a 20/25 with me added into the (25) it was done on a Scale of 1-5 as 1.) Being the worst Book you have ever heard (read) 2.) It's not the worst Book I have ever heard (read), but it wasn't good! 3.) I am partial too answer whether a Book is good or isn't! 4.) The Book I heard (read) was good and filled my time! 5.) The Book I heard (read) was Great, I enjoyed listening to it. "15" Clients chose (#5), "5" Clients chose (#4), "5" Clients chose (#3)!! There were no names used, and all that was required was an [?] or [X] the results were amazing because nobody gave a (#1)+(#2) to me, that states as a Professional who provides services to others, that these are the things that help people to relax and just enjoy an experience that can cause anxiety for people! Thanks Barnes and Noble and Samsung Nook for Some Relief and Relaxation From MY HECTIC WORLD and OTHERS WHO SHARE AND HAVE SOME OF THE SAME DELEMA'S THAT WE FACE EVERY DAY, But SOME HOW PULL IT OFF! Kind of like the Detective Petrovsky in the story. And Hannah could have used a NOOK Tablet then she wouldn't have felt so alone!? I gave this Book a Five All Around!
