Whenever I pick up a Misty Evans book I know I’m in for a good time. She knows how to bring both the suspense and romance and make you feel like you’re right there with the characters – on the edge of your seat waiting for the next plot twist or sighing as her characters bring the romance and heat. I do love a good second chance romance and Colton and Shelby didn’t disappoint. When Colton gets a message from his ex-wife that she needs him he doesn’t think twice – he hops in his truck and drives all night to find out how he can help. Shelby is still recovering from being shot and still has some memory issues, but she knows that Colton is the key to helping her remember the details of the serial killer investigation she was working. And luckily for Shelby, Colton isn’t only the key to her memories, he’s also the key to keeping her safe when she finds herself in the cross-hairs once again. Watching Colton and Shelby find their way back to each other was so satisfying. There was a bit of a mystery around why these two separated in the first place and I love how that was woven into the story. Not only were these two dealing with issues surrounding their divorce, they also had to face Shelby’s father who never approved of Colton, a serial killer out for revenge, and all the issues surrounding Shelby’s injury. One of my favorite things about Evans’ writing is her dialogue. She always brings a realness to every conversation and allows you feel the emotion of the characters. I really loved how she handled Shebly’s character, adding a bit of humor to things without minimizing the seriousness of her injuries. The suspense and action were plentiful, and even though I had an idea who the bad guy was early on, there were so many little twists and interrelated plot points that the story kept moving and didn’t slow down at all. And I can’t forget Salisbury, the dog that Colton was taking care of when he gets the call to go to Shelby. I’m always a sucker for stories with pets, and Salisbury was a great addition to this book. As usual, Evans weaves in other characters from the previous books which gives a sense of continuity to the series. The bonds that the characters have with one another create additional depth and emotion in the story. And even though my favorite character, B, doesn’t have a huge role in this one, it’s always fun to see what role she does play and watch her mind work! This can easily be read as a standalone, but I guarantee that you’ll want to learn more about the other characters once you meet them. Whether you are romance fan or love books with great plot twists, action, and suspense, this series is one I would highly recommend. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

Fatal Vision is the fifth book in Misty Evans’ Shadow Force series. Fatal Vision is Colton and Shelby’s story. Colton and Shelby were once married, but divorced when Shelby’s desire to rise within the FBI was stronger than her desire to remain married. Colton, a former SEAL, is currently working for a “dark ops” organization called Rockstar Security. He always held Shelby’s heart and was broken when she called it quits. As Shelby works on discovering a serial killer who murdered former team members from one of Colton’s final missions, she becomes the target and is left in a coma. When Shelby comes out of her coma, her mother goes against her father’s wishes and informs Colton that Shelby wants to see him. Colton not only works with Shelby to find the killer before he strikes again, but he also helps her with her physical therapy. Ms. Evans writes a story that always captivates me from the very beginning. I love that she brings characters back from previous books within the series so we get to see what they are up to. Fatal Vision is a standalone book, but I think after you read this book, you will want to know the other members of the Rockstar Security family. I would like to disclose that I voluntarily read and reviewed this book giving my honest opinion and rating.

Fatal Vision is the fifth book in Misty Evan’s SEAL’s of Shadow Force series. I absolutely loved this book! It is a standalone novel but it does help to have read the other books in the series. I so enjoy novels about a long lost love especially when they are former spouses. The love that Colton and Shelby both had for one another was apparent from the outset. Watching them seek to find the answers together kept me turning the pages until we discovered who was behind her shooting. It was touching how he helped guide her through her recovery process. In my opinion, this was the best book to date in the series. I highly recommend reading Fatal Vision. I’d like to disclose that I voluntarily read and reviewed this book and this is my true and honest opinion.

Fatal Vision, SEALs of Shadow Force, Book 5, by Misty Evans is an absolute must read! Colton Bells, sexy former SEAL, now a Shadow Force International operative, is pure alpha male and loyal to his very core. He may have been an orphan, but the few people he cares for, especially Shelby and Conner; he loves beyond measure and would do anything for. Shelby Claiborne is a preacher’s daughter, former Ms. Oklahoma, and now an FBI agent. Also the former Mrs. Colton Bells. She is recovering from a head wound and fighting to regain her memory. She thinks the last case she was working on may somehow be related to her ex-husband, but can’t remember the details. These two are truly perfect for each other. Colton is more than a little controlling, though his intentions are good, but feisty Shelby is a strong, independent woman, determined to stand on her own. Although they butt heads frequently, neither has gotten over the other. As they race to try to stop a serial killer, and figure out how the case is linked to Colton, they can’t help but rekindle old feelings. But there are secrets to be revealed with far reaching consequences. Conner and Sabrina, from Fatal Love, go to help Colton, along with several other characters from previous books. Queen Beatrice, the head of SFI, and Colton’s boss, tries to keep them all in line, out of jail, and alive, which isn’t always easy. The plot, as with any Misty Evans book, is intricately woven, and keeps the reader’s attention to the last page. Fatal Vision is packed with intrigue, suspense, and of course plenty of steamy romance. This is my favorite of the series so far, but I have to be honest and admit that each new book is my favorite until the next one comes out. Every book is this series is on my keeper list. You cannot go wrong with a Misty Evans book and Fatal Vision is no exception. I highly recommend this book and all of the Shadow Force International Series. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this title.

Colton Bells is a dangerous man when crossed especially when his ex-wife was shot by a sniper. What did she find out that made her a target and why did she want to see him? He still loves Shelby and is determined to protect her, but this killer won't give up. Colton is a loaner who now works at Shadow Force. He may be tough, but he cares. I fell for him when he agreed to watch his neighbor's dog. I could feel the love between Colton and Shelby it made me wondered what broke them up. I hoped that by solving this case that they would get a second chance. Shelby is intelligent and a fighter. I admired her strength in face of adversity. The chemistry between these two is still fierce. I knew that they belong together. I was hooked on Fatal Vision. Misty Evans kept me up late reading this suspenseful story. The unexpected twists were a shock. I didn't know until the very end who was behind this plot. An added bonus was catching up with familiar Shadow Force characters. I'm enjoying this series and I'm looking forward to more Shadow Force International. I received a copy of this book which I voluntarily read. My comments are my honest opinion.

A prickly hero who also happens to be a former SEAL and a beauty queen heroine FBI agent team up to take down a serial killer. Fatal Vision by Misty Evans is the next book in her Shadow Force International series. I have loved each and every book in this series! The best thing about the SFI series is that there are a few characters that overlap from one book to the next, each book can be read as a stand alone, and each has a distinct plot with engaging main characters. Colton and Shelby were once married and still very much in love. I love reading about couples reuniting, especially married couples. We find Colton rushing to Shelby’s side in Fatal Vision when she needs him. How can he say to the only woman he has ever loved? Shelby is recovering from a gunshot wound and that near fatal night has to do with a case she was investigating. She needs Colton to help her out. I really enjoyed the storyline of Fatal Vision. Even though we have an idea of who the killer is, the story is filled with heart racing action and suspenseful situations. While most of the time I didn’t want to put the book down, a few times my heart couldn’t take it and had to put it down to take a few breaths and remind my self it was a fiction story. Evans does a fabulous job with the romance between Colton and Shelby. The reuniting of these characters was pretty simple by romance standards but that made it all the more believable, but not easy. I enjoyed the mystery around why they were divorced in the first place. Evans knows how to pull the reader in and keep them there until the end, offering up bits and pieces of the story to the readers. The love scenes were passionate and smokin’ hot, too. In Fatal Vision, the dialogue is witty, the pacing is right on point, the characters are fascinating and the story is enticing. If you are looking for a romantic suspense that will entertain you from beginning to end, give this one a read!

Fatal Vision is a typical Misty Evans book; that means it grabbed me by the throat and the heart from the first page and refused to let me go. Even with I wasn't reading it, I was thinking about it. Yep, typical Misty Evans. She always creates amazing and unique characters with strength, intelligence and wit. I really needed the humor to balance out the tension of the situation. The plot is complex and some of the background is hidden so that been B can't access it. It was interesting to see where Colby's standoffishness comes from and to understand that the fact that he can't keep some people out his life because Shelby provided a soft place in his background that made it possible for him to attach to people even though he doesn't want to. It was obvious from the beginning that they still loved one another so I was dying to know what had split them up! That piece of information was locked in one of her missing memories and he sure wasn't willing to share with her or with the reader. Great, Awesomes, Fantastic, and a Must Read!!! I requested and received an advanced readers' copy of Fatal Vision from the author. The review is totally my opinion and I always review books that I love. I love, love, love Fatal Vision.

This book is full of mystery, suspense, arrogance, doubt and second chances. The characters are strong, determined and have remarkable interactions throughout. The story line draws you in and holds you until the end. Great read, thoroughly enjoyed it! I read and reviewed this book voluntarily, all opinions expressed are my own.

LOVED!!! I love this series and each book gets better than the prior book......and I wouldn't have thought that was possible! We finally learn Colton's story and why he and his wife, Shelby....aka the beauty queen, divorced. Despite their divorce, Shelby convinces her mother to call Colton and ask him to come to see her. She has only recently woken from a coma that was the result of her being shot and then banging her head on the concrete as she fell. Colton rushes to her side only to be greeted with anger and disdain by her family and coworkers. Regardless, Shelby needs his help solving a case and escaping the rehabilitation facility her parents placed her in. Before long, Colton and Shelby are embroiled into a dangerous investigation as one by one, Shadow Force International employees rush to their aid. What follows is a taut and well crafted thriller with just enough romance woven into it. This is a must read for fans of the genre. The author is on my must read authors' list.
