About the Author

Lisa B. Kamps is the USA Today Bestselling Author of The Baltimore Banners, featuring "…hard-hitting, heart-melting hockey players…" [USA Today], on and off the ice. Her Firehouse Fourteen series features hot and heroic firefighters who put more than their lives on the line and she's introduced a whole new team of hot hockey players who play hard and love even harder in her Banners' spin-off series, The York Bombers. The Chesapeake Blades--a romance series featuring women's hockey--recently launched with WINNING HARD. Her newest series, Cover Six Security, will launch in early 2019.

Lisa currently lives in Maryland with her husband and two sons (who are mostly sorta-kinda out of the house), one very spoiled Border Collie, two cats with major attitude, several head of cattle, and entirely too many chickens to count. When she's not busy writing or chasing animals, she's cheering loudly for her favorite hockey team, the Washington Capitals--or going through withdrawal and waiting for October to roll back around!

This is book #12, in the Baltimore Banners series. This book can be read as a standalone novel. For complete understanding of the series, and to avoid spoilers also, I recommend reading this series in order. Chloe is running scared. She got together over the holidays with the love of her life. Can she trust him not to break her heart, again? Shane has always been in love with just one woman. He thinks all is well after they reconnect over Christmas. Then she disappears again. Is it possible to fix what you never knew was broken? These characters were really something. I almost put the book down. There was a lot of angsty pieces. I am so glad I read to the finish line. This couple was so meant to be. I found it to be right on for this series. ***This early copy was given in exchange for an honest review.

Shane, Chloe and Wyatt were childhood friends with big hopes and dreams. They really expected to be together forever. But when an accident happened and Wyatt's life changed forever, so did his sister Chloe's and his best friend Shane's. 5 years apart, hopes and dreams shattered for some, life is different for all. They finally come face to face and try to resolve the thing that tore them apart and it seemed like they could start new. But then there are feelings that really haven't been dealt with. Wyatt and Shane's love for Chloe bring them together when she more or less quits communicating with anyone. She wants Shane but his life is so different now that he's made the big league, she's afraid she's not enough that their love isn't enough. Great story! Quick read! I received an ARC and am voluntarily leaving my review.

What a great hockey romance. From start to finish I was riveted and couldn’t put this book down. This is Shane Masters and Chloe Hunter’s story which began in Christmas Interference. However, I have not read the book where these two began and I had no trouble following this one at all. Shane, Chloe and Chloe’s twin brother Wyatt (also Shane’s ex best friend) have a past full of friendship, love and tragedy together. In fact they knew Shane before he became a member of the Baltimore Banners. I swiftly became invested in Shane and Chloe. What will happen when the past and present collide? Will they take a chance or will their relationship be destroyed forever? Fighting to Score was a well written story of love, forgiveness and acceptance. It will tug at your emotions and was at times was an emotional roller coaster of a read, but one I recommend you one click.

4 1/2 stars. I was so happy to finally get the rest of Shane and Chloe's story after that teaser in Christmas Interference. Things certainly did not go as I hoped they would have from there though, that is for sure. Seems like a lot of communication breakdown between the two of them has kept them from finding their HEA. But they have another chance now, thanks to some interference from a very unlikely person. Even with that help, things definitely are not as smooth as you would hope but don't give up. I love their journey and I think it has a lot to do with the realism of their story. As always I loved this epilogue! Lisa has quite a knack for wonderful wrap-ups! And lastly, I am totally in love with Wyatt and even though he is not on the Banners, I really hope to get more of him!!

First of all I have to say if you didn't read the Christmas short Christmas Interference stop and go back and read it. I'll admit I didn't, nor did I really want to. While you don't have to read it, you might get a better feel on this story if you do. With that being sad, I enjoyed this book. I'll be up front and admit that I wasn't a very big fan of Chloe though. She knew she loved Shane but she couldn't figure out completely what was making her freak out. She just kept being evasive and either telling both Shane and her brother Wyatt that she either didn't know or that nothing was wrong. After awhile it got annoying. Shane seemed like a decent guy, even with his regrets. He kept going after what he wanted, no matter how often Chloe pushed him away. All in all I thought this was an enjoyable book.

Figuring out the heart is much easier when you have your head on straight. Fighting to Score is about listening to your head without drowning out your heart. For Shane and Chloe, young love has become adult confusion. What once felt perfect is quickly becoming a mess. Can two broken hearts find their way back to becoming one? Kamps puts it all on the line and scores a goal.
