I have been reading Stephen King since I was 13. I am now 44 and can truly say that it had been a wonderful love affair! Mr. King, as usual, has kept me up half the night and commanded my attention from the first page until the last. I AM his Constant Reader and he still leaves me wanting, wanting. I thoroughly enjoyed this novel. Stephen King once again scooped me up and dominated my waking hours with his spell.

Stephen King does it again. Back with the same detective group as Edgar Award winning, MR. MERCEDES, King crafts a story that is not only thrilling and intense, but one that grapples with the ideas of how art, specifically novels, impact both reader and writer. The ending is chilling and will leave you waiting with impatient hunger for THE SUICIDE PRINCE, the final installment. Great for summer reading. A page-turning masterpiece.

Mr. King does it again! I liked this even better than Mr. Mercedes! Mr. King brings back all of the gang from that book. If you didn't read it, I suppose you could read this as a stand-alone novel because King does a good job of filling in the blanks on how the characters are connected. That being said, I would really suggest reading Mr. Mercedes first as you will be that much more invested in the characters. If you have already read the first, let me just say this is a fantastic followup! I really like this cast of characters. Apparently, Mr. King has more in store for us with these guys. The ending isn't exactly a cliffhanger, but King has definitely left it wide open for another. I did read a review saying this is going to be a trilogy, but I don't know that for sure. Suffice it to say that there will most likely be at least one more with an ending like this one. As far as age-appropriateness goes, this is Stephen King folks. There is some cussing and, in typical King fashion, it can be pretty graphic. This is not one of King's typical horror stories, more along the lines of a straight forward murder mystery, although it is definitely told in typical King fashion. It is creeper horror, building in intensity until nearing the end when you cannot put the book down! Thank you Stephen King for another great novel! I love your stuff and am always anxiously awaiting the next! Keep them coming! -- SPeeD

Being a fan for many years, it was a nice turn of events because this could actually happen, and that my friends is scarier than any monster.

I enjoyed reading this book. The characters were interesting, the story was easy to follow, and it was nice to re -visit a few characters from the Mr. Mercedes book. Looks like we are set to see a few of them in a future volume.

Finders Keepers trumps the #1 book in the trilogy Mr. Merecedes; however, book #1 set the stage for this engaging King book. Bravo! It is a great King read. I am patiently awaiting #3 The Suicide Prince or End of Watch (King posted on Facebook today he is renaming book 3). Note: I have noticed some posts that readers were not aware this is a trilogy. Read Mr. Merecedes first. Enjoy!

I am a huge fan of Stephen King and I am loving his new books. I really enjoyed the characters in this book. I think a lot of people will be able to relate to Peter and his situation . Sometimes the best laid intentions end up in disaster.

An excellent thriller. Easy to follow with good character development. The book has two time periods, but is not confusing and comes together nicely. For those who like more complicated books that are hard to figure out, this book might not be for you.

Stephen King has switched it up on us with the Mr. Mercedes Trilogy, of which Finders Keepers is book #2. Instead of the usual breakneck speed horror books that King pens, he has switched to a serial killler thriller. As usual, Kings research and knowledge and control of the subject matter, plot and structure are something to marvel. To say that King is a prolific writer is like saying that only if Babe Ruth cold have hit the ball. In book #1, Mr. Mercedes runs down a crowd gathered in line for a Job Fair at the Civic Center. This book deals with the pursuit and subsequent capture of Brady Hartsfield, aka Mr. Mercedes. His eventual capture leaves him in a comma in a mental facility. Finders Keepers is the name of Bill Hodges’ detective agency, where he and his assistant, Holly Gibney, work. Holly’s cousin was killed by Mr. Mercedes, and Hodges takes her under his wing, a thriving, successful and productive undertaking for both. When Jerome Robinson is back from his Ivy League College, he sometimes helps out, and this is one such time. This would be the gang of good guys. Jerome’s sister convinces her friend, Tina Saubers to come in on behalf of her brother, Pete, whom she believes to be in trouble. All of the signs are there. Would Mr. Hodges and Holly be interested in investigating? Somehow, Pete came into $20,000.00, and his parents are struggling to stay above water. Pete’s mother is a teacher and his father was at the Civic Center for the Job Fair when he was mowed down and crippled. Pete distributes this money to his parents monthly until the money is all dispersed. Tina catches Pete carefully reading a moleskin notebook. How does this come into play? Is it even important? Morris Bellamy is going to be getting out of jail soon for a rape conviction. And he wants what is rightfully his. A Great Book #2 in the Mr. Mercedes Trilogy That is $20,000.00 and some moleskin notebooks, but to his anguish and frustration of all his incarcerated years, it is all gone. He has an idea, though. He goes and sees an old friend, a shady book dealer named Andrew Halliday. Oops! Pete Saubers has also been to see the same dealer. Coincidence #2 - Morris Bellamy used to live in the same house that Pete and the Saubers Family live. The plot thickens and the story accelerates at a pace that won’t let you put the book down. It took awhile to set the stage (quite a few pages), but when the thriller was unearthed, well, look out. I hope that you do not have to work the next day. So, Pete Saubers has something that Morris Bellamy wants badly and he will stop at nothing to get these things back. It makes for an exciting book that really keeps you pumping. I have loved both of the books in this trilogy thus far. Finders Keepers is an excellent thriller. I am so glad that I read it and will definitely be finishing the trilogy. I would recommend this book to anyone who loves thrillers, and say just be patient, until the story is set, and then, hold on. The only warning would be that this is not your typical Stephen King horror book. This is an easy 5-stars.
