Fire Bound (Sea Haven: Sisters of the Heart Series #5) by Christine Feehan

A woman possesses the power to inflame the most dangerous passions of all in this Sisters of the Heart novel from #1 New York Times bestselling author Christine Feehan.

On the shores of Sea Haven, six women touched by great loss have come together in a sisterhood strengthened by the elements—a bond each will need as new love and danger enter their lives...

Flame-haired Lissa Piner is a skilled glass blower whose delicate gift conceals a burning inner strength that can destroy as exquisitely as it can create. Commissioned to design chandeliers for a string of luxury hotels, her remarkable skills have taken her to Italy. But Lissa’s real mission there is a secret. For her entire life has been a lie, leading to a chance to avenge a terrible wrong.

Enlisted as her bodyguard is Casmir Prakenskii, a trained assassin living off the grid. In Lissa, he sees a kindred spirit—something unexpected and wicked, mysterious and sensual. But more than desire is about to bring them together: because both of their pasts cry out for revenge. And for two people with this many secrets, this much passion, and this many enemies, someone is bound to get burned.

Surprised Lisa didn't use her element, just Casmir did minimally. Surprised by that. The other stories had stronger plots that carried through better than this. Ending was disappointing, felt unfinished.

Fire Bound was a big disappointment . Made me wonder if Christine Feehan actually wrote it. I have every book from each of her series. This did not have her usual "edge of seat" action. Everyone wants some bedroom scenes, but not over 75% of the book. Didn't have the action or thrilling plot like even the first books of this series. Want her old style back. If this is the Editors at work, tell them to buzz off.

I loved her other books in this series. This one Fiery Lisa barely mentions her talent , let alone uses it. Way too much explicit sex and discriptive sexual abuse. WHERE'S THE ROMANCE? Sure hope the next book tones down the graphic sex and abuse.. Blythe and Viktor certainly deserve better

I bought this assuming that it would be of the caliber of her element/ Sea Haven books. Not so, I ended up skipping large portions due to the gratuitous sex scenes. Seems to be setting up the next book for even worse behavior and more violence. Seems to be the trend for all her books. Very disappointing. I will be more careful to read reviews before I buy in future.

The storyline was pretty good but it felt like an erotica book instead of a real novel like her others in the series.

Book was OK, but not much of a story line. Didn't seem worth the wait, hopefully the next one will be better.

As with all of her books lately. It feels like a repeat. I wish she would go back to her old style of writing where you really got to know and fall in love with her characters. I gave up on the breed series for the same reason. Didn't buy the last two Capathian novels wanted to check them out from the library. Now the sea haven series. So sad.

The book was ok...not a lot of that cheesy internal dialogue in previous books. I wish she would tone down the sex scenes and add more storyline. She used to be an author I would buy automatically, now I refuse to pay for these slutty mediocre novels. I want the old Feehan back!!!!

Sex, sex, and more sex. I should have known better. My bad, that's all Ms. Feehan writes about anymore. I'm done giving her my money so she can continue to throw out more trash. The four and five star reviews are probably friends and family or someone that never read her books several years ago. What a shame she changed her style.

Sex on a horse is not cool. Poor thing! Too much graphic sex and sexual abuse and not enough story.

Finally read Fire Bound. Who else is tired of page after page of sexual encounters? As in all her books, i now thumb quickly through 2 the end of these forays! Im all for lovemaking, but srsly, after one prelude, ive read enough! Just write amazing content, without repeated encounters!!! If you've read one, u know whats gonna happen... The story is just not gripping enough, 2 b as long as it is. I want 2 b on the edge of my seat, rather than skipping ahead, in hopes of becoming intrigued again. She can really write, but this? Im forcing myself 2 finish, just 2 say i did. Come back 2 us w ur great writing Christine...Please!

Very disappointed. Where are the strong female characters who can take care of themselves? Way too much violent and graphic sex - no love scenes - just sex, sex, and bondage sex. I skipped so many pages! Where's the romance? Ms. Feehan seems to have borrowed a page too many from '50 Shades of Trash'. She would do much better by returning to her writing style of about 6 years or so ago when her female characters had some backbone. I'd leave my name, but I am too embarrassed to have spent the money on this 'book'. I will not be purchasing Blythe and Viktor's story as I disliked him during his brief appearance in this story.

I loved this book...very much in Feehan ' s style! The storyline kept building to a great ending.

Was disappointed in this one. The big build up throughout these stories regarding the Russians was pretty much an "also ran", in this story. Lissa's personal story was good, but there was so much sexual content! That should be PART of a story, if added; not most of the book. Also, my most severe criticism would be the all too graphic description of her uncle's and uncles body guard's treatment of a woman. Kept me up at night. Please don't ever do this again. Yes, they were monsters. We don't need so horrific a scene description! I liked the basic story, but this was too much.

Not my favorite in the series but still a great story line. Disappointed that Feehan didn't bring us back to the farm but I'm sure I will find out what the future holds in the next book.

The long anticipated book (at least for me) in the Sea Haven/Sisters of the Heart series was a delicious foray into fire filled passion. Once these two gave in to their passion for each other they just didn't quit. I can't tell you how many times they made love, but thankfully the plot line and conflicts were never lost amongst all of the steamy scenes. These two were made for each other and were the perfect match. I like how he didn't try to control her or tell her she couldn't seek out her revenge against those who killed her family. I loved how she strived to show him love and acceptance of who and what he was. I enjoyed the story. I won't spill the beans on the final plot elements, but I am glad the brothers are safe and hopefully free. I so am looking forward to the last book and I have already tried to hunt down details about it, but nothing has been posted yet which means a long wait. Boohoo. Anyway, it was a great read, even with all of the steamy sex that seemed to happen in every chapter (though that is probably an exaggeration). Unlike Feehan's Cat's Lair where it got to the point where I had to skip pages to get past the sex scenes to get back to the story, this one didn't get to the point where I was like "enough is enough, get back to the story".
