First, let me start by saying that this is a novella, not a full-length novel. This story was quirky, steamy, and fun! I absolutely loved the characters! The novella starts off interesting, and doesn't stop being interesting until the very last page. Crosby and Estelle were great main characters and were written with great chemistry as well as interesting personalities! Even though the side characters don't make a huge appearance in this novella, they still had good development. My only complaint, was that it seemed pretty rushed. The novella could have easily been a full novel without losing any of it's humor and romance. It left me wanting more of a story with Estelle and Crosby. There wasn't much in the way of plot except at the beginning and the end of the book. The author blurred right past the middle of the book. Overall, I hope to read more about the Chase brothers. This is a new to me author, and I'm planning on reading more. This book gets four glittery stars for being awesome, just not perfect.

Estelle Donovan, has left her natural habitat of California, and has traveled to New York City to house-sit her brother’s apartment. She is a landscape designer and hates the smog, overcrowding, and lack of green space in general. On her first day in the city, the air conditioner breaks, and after an unfortunate run in with a pickle, she meets Crosby Chase. He was involved with the pickle incident, and because his family owns a heat and air company and they live in the same building, he hooks her up the an new air conditioner. They are instantly attracted to each other, but realize that because Estelle is only in town for 10 days, their time together is limited. They hook up, and after a few days, Crosby decides to show Estelle the real New York and help her find 5 things she like about the city. They fall in love, but Estelle still plans on returning to California. Can Crosby convince her that they have a future? I enjoyed this novella, because it was fast paced and well written. I really liked the demonic cat that haunted Estelle’s Brothers fire escape. I was given a free copy of this book by Netgalley.com

“Five Things I Love About You” by Sarah Balance is an absolute hilarious novel. It has been a long time since I laughed so much when reading a book. This was a really fast read as the author really created two amazing characters for the readers to enjoy. The funny and witty banter was great to read. And it sure did not do any damage to the story that the relationship between Estelle and Crosby was really so hot I could almost feel it. I think I have to take a look at Sarah Balance’s other novels too, GOD my day needs more good and free hours to read #laughing

I stumbled upon this author while searching for something to read after an intense book. I wanted something light hearted and fun. This book delivered and it was so easy to fall in love with the characters! It's about 123 pages of great story! I'm on to the next book in this series.

These three books are SHORT but complete stories... Claire, landscape architect from California is house sitting for her brother in NYC when she meets Crosby, the oldest of three brothers running the family business... He happens to live in the same building... She hates NYC and he loves it... A sexy fun read, predictable but I read it in one evening while watching TV... Well done and think all will enjoy...

This book is only 116 pages long including the table of contents. Why do publishers lie about the number of pages. It is the publisher who is responsible for this false advertising.

My Thoughts: Stories that put the main character in a situation they're uncomfortable with always makes for great humor. This story definitely had that, and then some! Estelle hates being in New York City in her brother's apartment and she can't wait to get back to California. When she has a couple run-ins with Crosby, he wants to show her what New York has to offer when it comes to the good things. The overwhelming urge to dive into a temporary romance becomes too much and they give in. But that is what it is--temporary. Once the two weeks are up, she's going back to the home she loves and leaving the city behind once and for all. As much as he cares, he can't uproot himself from the city he loves and knows. Will they be able to make this work or is this the end? Five Things I Love About You is super adorable, sweet, and hilarious. The build to romance was a comedy of errors, but that made it all the more lovable! The cat bite alone caused a number of laughs for me. Crosby and Estelle are great together--this sizzling chemistry that turns into a deep emotional connection. Loved it, loved it, loved it. Seriously can't wait for Sarah Ballance's next book! My Rating: Very Good

Estelle Donovan agrees to apartment sit for her brother in New York City. Why? She hates big cities. She doesn't want to be surrounded by skyscrapers. When she meets Crosby Chase, she likes him, even if he dumped pickles on her. Can he convince her that both he and the Big Apple are for her? I enjoyed this humorous and romantic tale of love. Estelle and Crosby make an interesting couple. They don't seem to have much in common except their desire for each other. When they're together sparks fly. Their dialogue makes their interaction sparkle. I laughed at Hell Cat and his owner. They were definitely an amusing distraction. Sarah Balance has a flair for romance. I enjoyed this light hearted story. I want to see more of the Chase Brothers.

Five Things I Love About You is such a fun story, but I should’ve known it would be because Sarah Ballance always has a way of pulling me into one of books with the dialogue, characters, and overall awesomeness. I can’t even begin to tell you how she is a master at weaving words together that just make you fall in love! My favorite part of this story—besides the characters—was the yellow fanged cat who would just show up out of nowhere and somehow steal the scene. But his little part toward the end of the story melted my heart. I won’t go into detail because you should read this book yourself to discover all the little tidbits of amazingness. Estelle comes to New York City from the sunny west coast to apartment sit her brother’s place. She’s not thrilled because she hates the city–how the people are rude, the sidewalks are dirty, and the overall stench. She ends up meeting a hunky neighbor who just happens to douse her with pickle juice and then come to her rescue when her air conditioner goes on the fritz. From the get go these two are attracted and between their conversations filled with sexual innuendo and the thoughts racing through their heads—about each other—this is a real page turner. Crosby–the hunky neighbor–is determined so show Estelle that the city has a lot to offer. He’ll find at least 5 things that she’ll love about city life. Let the fun begin… Being that they were from different ends of the continent, I was anxious to find out how they’d have their happily ever after. Would they end up having a long distance relationship…would he chuck in his business and leave it to his brothers and head west…or would she sell her house and move to the big city, or would they compromise and meet somewhere in the middle? I guess if you want to find out, you need to grab a copy of this fun novella and find the answer. This is the first book in a series about the Chase brothers, and I’m already in love with the men in this family. Looking forward to book 2!!!

FIVE THINGS I LOVE ABOUT YOU is a lighthearted romantic romp with witty banter, great chemistry between the characters, steamy sexy times and loads of laugh-out loud scenes and I loved it! Estelle Donovan is a landscape artist from California, in New York to house sit for her brother while he's out of town but from the first moment she gets to the city, she hates everything about it - the smells, the heat, the unfriendly crowds and especially the lack of greenery. Crashing into the hot guy in the condiments aisle is just one more item in her long list of grievances. An accident with a jar of pickles was definitely not the way Crosby Chase would have chosen to introduce himself to the gorgeous woman at the grocery but her dislike for his city is something he takes very personally and he is going to change her mind and he's sure she can find five things to love about New York. Why bother when all she needs is one? Him! Estelle and Nick agree to two weeks of fun, but falling in love was not a part of the plan especially because their lives are on opposite sides of the country. Now they both have a tough decision to make: stay or go? This was such a fun story and I found myself laughing out loud on several occasions. The characters are easy to relate to, the dynamics between the Chase brothers very interesting and I liked that both Estelle and Crosby were willing to explore what they had found in each other, even if it meant leaving everything familiar behind. I really look forward to the rest of the series and I hope that the stories will be a lot longer than this. 3.5 Sexy Repair-Guy Stars I’ve come to realize that I’m prejudiced against prejudiced people. Is that like an oxymoron or something? Never mind. What I mean is when a main character in a book is knowingly clinging to prejudiced notions and is stubbornly refusing to change this idea… then it really pisses me off. Five Things I Love About You is about a girl who hates the city but agrees to house-sit her brother’s apartment in New York. After complaining about the sidewalks, the heat, the traffic, New Yorkers in general, and the supermarket she is at in particular, Estelle ends up getting pickled which happens when she is kneeling and a jar of pickles breaks leaving her drenched in pickle juice. I would be pissed by this too if the one starting the pickle shower wasn’t the most gorgeous man I’d ever seen. Crosby just saw the girl of his dreams and she is wearing a white t shirt soaked through in pickle juice by his doing… not the best introduction. He is strongly rejected by Estelle aka The City Hater after helping her take her groceries home. The next day Estelle has the surprise of a life time when she calls the AC repair guy and none other than Crosby knocks on her door. Luckily for her, Crosby is strongly attracted to her and insists that the city is not that bad, and that she will, in fact find 5 things to love about it. Crosby surprised even himself when he set to change Estelle’s ideas about the city. He is all about work since his family’s company sits on his shoulders and he can’t waste time playing around, even if Estelle is turning out to be the one who gets him like no one before. But will Crosby be successful in changing Estelle’s mind? Will Estelle find Crosby worthy enough to uproot her life and overcome her aversion to cities? Well, let me tell you one thing, the sexy scenes were hot and Crosby was awesome. Tall, built, responsible, sweet… and when Estelle got that stick up her butt out and relaxed, I almost liked her. Unfortunately her insistence on everything city-related being a negative kind of got on my nerves and never really let up. Aside from this, I found the book really enjoyable, had a great time reading it, wouldn’t mind getting my hands on Crosby and am hoping I’ll get to see all his hunky brothers find their loves. I can’t wait for the next story! *I received a complimentary copy from the Publisher in exchange for an honest review*

What a great read! I loved this book from start to finish and read in one sitting. I had to finish it. I enjoyed both Estelle and Crosby's characters. They were both sassy and sarcastically funny. They cracked me up with the sexual innuendos during their conversations. Such a deep connection so quickly, but it didn't seem over the top or too fast. And the rest of the characters in the story (his brothers and parents, her best friend and her brother) were a great supporting cast. I do hope Sarah Ballance will write for them. I would love them to each have their own story. I received this book in exchange for an honest review from the publisher.

4 stars Five Things I Love About You was a sweet, fun and entertaining read. I really enjoyed this heartwarming novella. Both Estelle and Crosby were likable and relatable. Their story was well written and held my interest from start to finish. The ending left me with a huge smile on my face and a heart full of happy feels. Five Things I Love About You is the first book from the Chase Brothers series, I loved the relationship between the Chase boys and I'm looking forward to reading their stories.

Take one country girl and send her to the New York City, surrounded by concrete, unsmiling folk and no greenery and you’ve one unhappy girl . . . or have you? After having pickle spilt over her in the supermarket, getting trapped in a lift, staring at the four walls of her brother’s apartment (which she’s looking after for the fortnight he’s away) then his air conditioner starting to smoke and she’s going to take some convincing that the city is the place to be! California landscape artist Estelle Donovan meets Crosby Chase in the supermarket then again when he comes to repair the Air Con. She tells him of her hatred of the city and he bets he can find five things she’ll love about it before her two week stay is over, the major danger for her is that he’ll be one of the things she loves! With Mortimer the cat in attack mode, workaholic Crosby is going to have to forget his family business and work hard to convince her! Keeping to the theme then, here are five things I love about this book: 1. The banter between all the characters is hilarious and written so it feels like you’re listening to them as you read it. 2. Great characters, well developed, folks you could really relate to! 3. Crosby’s brothers and family, their interactions, reactions and support for each other in their very different ways. 4. The airport scene towards the end. 5. The whole book – superbly written, great plot and highly entertaining! Definitely an author I’ll be looking out for in future, I have no hesitation in highly recommending this to anyone who like their romance with humour as well as plenty of angst and turmoil! Thanks to the authors, publisher and NetGalley, too for letting me read an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

How would I describe this story? Five Things I Love About You is an endearing, delightful and sexy read with enchanting characters and a wonderful plot. Kind of a modern day twist on Shakespeare's Taming of the Shrew. Sarah Ballance has written a lighter version of unexpected love, but with no less emotion and much more sex appeal. I enjoyed it and am sure that others will too. I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Funny, sexy, and completely entertaining! A quick light read that had some hilarious laugh out loud moments. Estelle finds herself stuck in NYC helping out her brother. Problem is, she hates the city. The concrete, the crowds, the smell all make this country loving landscaper crazy. After a funny mishap in the grocery store, Estelle finds herself being escorted back to the apartment by Crosby Chase. City boy through and through. Through some witty banter, they make a bet that Crosby can change her mind about the city in 2 weeks. The plan - have a little fun, enjoy her company. No where in the plan was falling in love!! This is a great read that I highly recommend!

With a meet-cute in a grocery store involving an errant jar of pickles, this novella was a sweet and sexy story, perfect for an afternoon read. Heavy on the laughs and with very little angst, it's the story of landscape artist Estelle, who has reluctantly left her California home to apartment sit for her brother in New York (a city of concrete that she can't stand) and Crosby, a 3rd generation refrigeration technician who happens to live in the same apartment building. I loved the way the story began, and Crosby had his hands full convincing Estelle that New York isn't as bad as she thinks it is. The chemistry is obvious between them from the start and leads to some sexy scenes together. I think what I really enjoyed about this story was that these two characters were really ordinary people, fun and friendly types who connected quickly and have this two week fling, with full knowledge of its impending end when it will be time for Estelle to go home again. But in the short span of time they are together, they realize that they've found something special and will have to reconsider what this will mean at the end of her time in NY. It was a very enjoyable story with a satisfying happy ending. 4.5 stars. (Here's hoping for more of Crosby's family to get stories of their own!)

when I first started reading books it was simple romance books from the used book store for a book. They were around 200 pages, had enough plot to be believable without the "their is no way that all happened in that time frame" with the collection of ebooks, I've recently lost a lot of that simplicity and found books that are much longer with twisted plots that don't add up. so I'm thankful when I find books like this to remind me of why I enjoy reading so much. Five things I love about you is an easy, humorous read with Crosby trying to prove to Estelle that their are things to love about NYC. this leads to some funny moments, sexy moments, sad and playful. makes for a delightful day read out in the sun. I'm looking forward to reading more lovestruck books!

I thoroughly enjoyed reading Five Things I Love About You. Crosby and Estelle are delightful characters. I loved the interaction and their amazing chemistry. The descriptions are spot on without the details being overdone. This book is a very entertaining read and well worth a couple of hours of your time. You’ll find yourself smiling a lot, if not outright laughing. I can’t think of a better way to relax! Check out this book – you won’t be disappointed! I have been a fan of Ms. Ballance since her first book. I love her ability to write in different genres and do it well. I’m looking forward to reading her books for a long time.

Sarah Ballance hit a perfect trifecta with this novella! Laugh out loud humor, perfect love store, and lots of smexiness! I devoured this book by staying up way past my bedtime because I just could.not.put.it.down! I literally laughed out loud, wished myself into some of the smexiness, choked back some tears, and had warm fuzzies while reading this book! Estelle agrees to leave her lush garden filled California paradise and apartment sit for 2 weeks in New York City for her brother. Sounds like a great vacation for most, but Estelle is anything but pleased to be stuck in the “world of godawful concrete slabs bathed in the stench of sewage.” Her first stop is the corner grocery store for basic supplies, but instead she leaves drenched in pickle juice with hottie Crosby carrying her groceries home for her! After some friendly appraisals and banter Estelle brushes Crosby off to wallow in her misery. Thankfully, Crosby crosses her path again and during this outing issues the famous challenge that he can make her love 5 things about New York before she leaves. I could go on and on about this novella, but I will say that the writing was fresh and funny. You could picture yourself in the story and relate with the characters; even Mortimer, the cat from hell.
