Normally don't go for shorter books, but took a chance on it and this read was really enjoyable! Sam is a well-written, flawed individual with trust issues and a dark streak that she struggles with. I love all of it and it didn't play out as I thought it would. Original, not derivative, and refreshing for someone who gave up crime books a long time ago!

I did not care for this book at first, boy was I glad I stuck with it to the end. Creeped me out several times so much I had to put it down for a while. I believe you have the killer next door thing down pat. I am not easily frightened by things I read however you got a visceral reaction out of me. I used to wait on one of our local, invisible , serial killers at fat boys in Palm Bay Florida. He blended in perfectly in society, when he wasn't busy being the vampire rapist of the worst nightmares. I was a very young girl in my twenties working with some of the most beautiful women I have ever seen. The reason he did not target us was his high degree of intelligence,we would be missed quickly. The poor women he preyed upon hitchhiked with addictions. The lone survivor saved herself and untold others by her heroic actions that day, she is forever my hero,. Thank you for giving this book freely,. Sincerely, Sharon Renee gray.

For someone writing about forensic science you would think the author and editors would know the law of conservation of mass. Matter does not change its weight with a simple phase change like freezing. Too many sciencce errors.
