Maccus Fury, a fallen angel, is trying hard to keep his sanity. Seems being an assassin might be catching up with him. Now, Heaven, or Hell, has sent a beautiful assassin to kill him. Lovely. She’s pretending to seduce him, and he’s okay with that. She’s smart and snarky—but she has no idea what she’s walked into. And he’s more than peeved that they only sent one person. They’re going to need an army if they want him dead.

Morrigan Quill is one of Hell’s bounty hunters. She sold her soul to keep her sister safe, and now she’s working off her contract by catching bad guys and dragging them back to hell. When Lucifer makes her a new offer––that’s definitely too good to be true—she can’t say no. All she has to do is kill a powerful and crazy-hot fallen angel, who will totally kick her ass in battle.

Good thing he won’t see what’s coming next.

Guess what? I've found a new author to stalk! N.J. Walters... where the heck have you been all of my life? I feel like I've been missing so many opportunities to fall in love with your words and your characters because Maccus and Morrigan were two examples of how incredibly talented you are! Maccus Fury ↠ once an angel, he was betrayed by Gabriel and spent centuries battling for survival in the pits of hell. His time there turned him into a battle-weary warrior, a feared assassin known as The Hunter, the fiercest and strongest male alive, and a threat to all higher beings. An unwarranted enemy of both Gabriel and Lucifer, he becomes a player in a game he doesn't know the rules to. Gabriel wants him to kill Morrigan Quill, a demon hunter who carries an innocence and a light to her. She's the one person who is able to truly touch him, to unleash his emotions. Will she be the one to nurture the dwindling light of his soul? Morrigan Quill ↠ a desperate attempt to save her sister had her sacrificing her soul to Lucifer. Destined for Hell, she's trained to become a demon hunter and she's darn good at her job. When the big boss orders her to kill in exchange for wiping her contract clean, how can she refuse? She was willing to do just about anything to guarantee her and her sister's freedom. But what happens when she realizes that the man she's supposed to kill can't be killed? At least not by her. And he may be the one person who can make her feel free. From the intriguing world building to the action-packed and suspenseful plot to the intriguing, I-can't-get-enough-of-them characters, I was easily captivated by this story. My only complaint is that it has taken me this long to indulge in a story by Walters. Maccus was delicious, Morrigan was endearing, and I'm looking forward to what's next in this series.

This is an interesting take on demons and angels mythology. I enjoyed reading it. Maccus is a fallen angel and a trained killer. He has lived on earth for centuries now and there is no being who is more powerful than him. He has no weaknesses and heaven and hell both leave him alone. That is until Morrigan enters the picture. She is a hell's bounty hunter. Her soul belongs to Lucifer. But against all odds, Maccus wants her and also wants to keep her safe. But do they even stand a chance when heaven and hell both are against them? There are some twists and turns along the way. The story is gripping but more than anything else it is a steamy hot romance novel. Perfect for lovers of paranormal romance. I loved all the characters and overall, I think it's a good read. However, there were a few boring parts where the story just seemed to be dragging. I confess, I skipped a few chapters here and there. Maybe readers who like slow-paced books would love it more than me.

Maccus Fury is a fallen angel just trying to keep his sanity. Now an assassin himself, another assassin has been sent after him. She's smart and beautiful and he thinks pretending to seduce him. Although he doesn't get why they think that they only need one assassin to take him out and not an army! Morrigan Quill is one of Hell's bounty hunters. She sold her soul in order to keep her sister safe, even knowing what was in store for herself. She has a hundred years to go and is just hoping to make it that far without failing. When Hades gives her another offer (that she knows has to be too good to be true) she doesn't feel she has a choice but to take it. All she has to do is kill the fallen angel that she knows could kill her with a flick of his wrist. I wish this would let me give half stars on here. I would say more of a 4.5 than just a 4! I really liked this one! It's the perfect way to start a new series and left me wanting more! Maccus is this strong man with an absolute heart of gold who got such a raw deal. And for what? I hate what happened to him! But his relationship with Morrigan is, in my opinion, perfect. He finally gets something that he truly deserves to have, someone who loves him and is willing to give herself up for him! And it's beautiful. Morrigan is this woman who gave up everything because of the love she has for her sister. She has an exceptionally beautiful soul and is willing to do anything and everything for the people that she loves. I loved the twist towards the end with regards to her family that I didn't see coming! The only reason I didn't give this one 5 stars was because I was left with some questions in regards to her sister. I felt like there were a few things that were left out and I felt a little lost with regards to her. I honestly can't wait for the next one!!

Archangel Gabriel, Lucifer, demon hunter and fallen angel…Whoa! What a steamy story! You would expect Gabriel and fallen Angel Lucifer to work at cross purposes, but what if they both wanted the same things? Great book. I felt happy, sad and even cried. Loved the ending after the tears. Maccus Fury is a fallen angel who has been roaming the Earth for several millennia, not caring about anything or anybody. At heart he’s a “good” guy and along with others has banned together to form the Forgotten Brotherhood, a group of assassins who kill the monsters of the world, never the innocent. Morrigan Quill is a bounty hunter for Lucifer. She gave him her soul for 25 years to free her baby sister’s life/soul. Morrigan has been given an opportunity to end this contract if she would just kill this one person: Maccus. He in turn as been asked to kill one person: Morrigan. What happens when their paths cross? There is an immediate attraction but what good would that do? Oh. My. This is one steamy PNR story (OMG the shower scene or the diner scene and many others). This would make one stupendous action movie! If you like Angels, Demons and those around them, read this book. This was a different genre for me, but I loved it! I volunteered to review an ARC of this book through Entangled/NetGalley and it comes highly recommended. Psssst…Love the cover too!

‘Fury Unleashed’ is the first book in the Forgotten Brotherhood series. This book is told from both Maccus Fury, and Morrigan Quill’s point of view. Maccus is a Fallen Angel who has lived for thousands of years. He works as an assassin and rarely feels anything. Maccus has only a little thread of humanity left and he doesn’t even care. But when Morrigan, a bounty hunter, walks by him he feels things he hasn’t felt before. And soon they find out that both Heaven and Hell are involved with setting them up to meet. Requesting this book was a bit of a gamble. I rarely read fantasy or paranormal novels lately. But this book just seemed to speak to me. I really wanted to read it and I’m so happy I did because I really loved this book from the moment I started till the very end. ‘Fury Unleashed’ is the perfect combination of romance, action and paranormal. I loved it! The two main characters Maccus and Morrigan shouldn’t work at all, but they do. Their chemistry is flying of the pages, and there is definitely a lot of Hotness going on. I mean if you don’t like sex in your book, than this one is not for you. But I loved the way there was all this hot stuff, but above all their was romance and lots of action. This book definitely kept me sitting on the edge of my seat. The action was intense. I mean we are talking about fighting between Heaven and Hell and demons and.. Well, you’ll have to read it! But what I loved most about this read was the way there just was a whole new world. There are bounty hunters, demons, angels and there is heaven and hell.. but everything is new and original. Nothing is the way you think it is. N.J. Walters created this unique new world and I very much enjoyed it. Since this book is the first one in a series, I definitely can’t wait to read the next book. And I might have to check out more books by this author.

Amazing start to a new Walters' series. Heaven/Gabriel is ordering a hit on Morrigan Quill who is a bounty hunter for HELL. Lucifer is ordering her to kill Maccus a Fallen Angel and a Hunter himself. When they meet is is not steel that slashes but their hearts that get the arrow. Lots of in depth building of the main characters and their back stories. Oh yeah lots of action too. Not exactly a cliff hanger but a want from this reader to know what comes next. "A copy of this book was provided by Entangled via Netgalley with no requirements for a review. Comments here are my honest opinion."

That was simply an awesome read! It had everything, and reviewing it without giving things away, well, let’s concentrate on what it made me feel. It had fast-paced action, so my heart was pumping and it had super sexy times, so my heart was pumping. It had regret, sadness, hope, love, despair, and compassion. It had souls that were nearly completely dark but had a sliver of light, and it had souls that the darkness that had been encountered could not dim their brightness. It had greed and manipulation, duplicity, where there should be none. It was a paranormal readers fantasy with major characters and mind-shifting events, and where good and bad aren’t absolutes. It had Maccus and Morrigan, and it is their story, of their journey, to each other, and to completion. It had everything, and I loved it all!

What happened when an Assassin Fallen Angel and Hell's Bounty Hunter met? You get a fast paced, with lots of sexy times in Fury Unleashed. This is the latest series by N.J Walters which has the potential to be as popular as her other series which I enjoyed like Salvation Pack, Legacy and Blood of the Drakon. Maccus is our Fallen Angel and he's been contracted by Gabriel to kill Morrigan who is bound for 25 years by Lucifer to be Hell's Bounty Hunter. To make the premise interesting, Lucifer in return ordered Morrigan to find and kill Maccus by any means necessary. Sounds easy? Not when both Maccus and Morrigan found themselves to be attracted to each other and all they want to do is get into each other's pants instead of the directives that was given to them. On the whole I enjoyed Fury Unleashed but then again, I've always enjoyed N.J Walters' works. I would love to have more detailed world building, to be honest, I expected it as much being this is the first book of the series. Usually authors would laden us with loads of backstory, secondary characters etc. However, not so much in this book but that didn't put me off. Having met the Forgotten Brotherhood, I couldn't wait to read their individual stories. I was lucky enough to received this copy from Netgalley, however, the views above are all my own.

Fury Unleashed is book one in the brand new series, Forgotten Brotherhood, by N.J. Walters. I have to admit that first, I was drawn to this book by the gorgeous cover. But then, ladies and gentlemen, I read the book. WOW, WOW, WOW!!! This book pretty much rocked my world, and then some. And now that I’ve finished it, yes, the cover is perfect for the hero of this story! Now, let me tell you a little bit about it! Maccus Fury is thousands of years old. He is also a fallen angel, the wings ripped from his back by Gabriel himself. Now, Maccus is an assassin for hire, taking out the evil of the earth while padding his bank account. He is alone, always, and he trusts no one. Then Maccus is offered what was to be the chance to earn back his wings. All he has to do is one job, kill one particular red headed woman. Easy, right? Only Maccus knows better. Things are never what they appear to be. Morrigan Quill all but raised her little sister. But when her sister made a grave error in judgement, Morrigan was forced to make a choice. She chose to save her sister and signed a contract with the devil himself. Twenty five years as a demon hunter in exchange for her sister’s safety. Now, she’s only ten years in. She goes from cheap motel to cheap motel, from job to job. But then she is offered a chance by Lucifer himself to wipe the slate clean. One job. Kill one man. And her servitude is over. She is free. “What was it about her that drew him? Why her? Why now?” When Morrigan and Maccus meet, was it chance or was it pre-ordained? Both have learned not to trust anyone but themselves. But neither can deny the strong pull to each other. A chemistry that sparks as hot as an inferno. Even then, both accept the time they have to be together, knowing that one or the other of them will soon die. “He was the hunter, and she was his prey. And she was more than ready to be caught.” This entire book was one crazy, wild ride. And I have to mention, that it is HOT! These two burn up the pages. More importantly, though, this is a battle of good vs evil. And if you think you know what I mean here, you don’t. What this also is, is a testament to the power of love and goodness. Of learning to trust, of finding that one little spark of light within you and allowing it to flare to life. This book is one surprise after another and one heck of a surprise ending. I loved every minute of it. I can’t wait to see what comes next in this series. I’ll be right here waiting for it so I can tell you all about it.

Ok I have to start by mentioning that beautiful cover because obviously it snagged my attention because it's gorgeous ! I've not read a lot by this author so it was quite nice to find this book which is the first in this new series pitting heaven against hell or does it ? You see it begins with fallen Angel Maccus being given a contract from Archangel Gabriel to kill Morrigan but then Morrigan who is a bounty hunter for hell is instructed by Lucifer to kill Maccus ! Confused ? Well you might not be but both Maccus and Morrigan refuse to be pawns in this unholy game. What on earth can I say about this without giving away too much ? Morrigan has learned to be tough but there's a huge part of her that is good and she so wants to believe that others can be redeemed. Maccus is absolutely pure cave man and his reactions to Morrigan are intense and downright carnal ! It's easy to dislike Lucifer because he's manipulative and cruel but the big surprise for me was Gabriel because I honestly hadn't expected his motives. This is steamy but it's also really about trust and learning to love. It was a story with surprises and an ending that made me smile but it leaves the way clear for other characters to get well and truly caught up in the cross hairs as powerful beings seek to redress the balance between good and evil. This voluntary take is of a copy I requested from Netgalley and my thoughts and comments are honest and I believe fair
