Overview

When she was just a child, Heather’s life was altered by an accident that all but destroyed her internal organs. The doctors gave her no chance—but with God’s grace, she proved them wrong. When they said she would never walk, she defied them again. And though they insisted she could never have children, she did. When others said no—God said yes.

More than a story of suffering and survival, Heather’s life is a testament to the power of faith. From the first decisive moments after the accident, Heather and her mother were able to give their fear and panic to God, and trust Him to act as a source of strength in their lives. With her husband DeWayne and her daughter Mackenzie—the two greatest miracles in her life—Heather has found great joy, and many reasons to give praise. This is her amazing and inspiring true story.

"God Said Yes" is a magnificently written, utterly captivating story of hope, faith and endurance. Together, Heather Hornback-Bland and Ninie Hammon, share Heather's incredible life story. In 1973 at age 4, Heather was in a horrible car accident that annihilated many of her internal organs. Her life became an endless series of critical surgeries...over 180 as of 2007. Time and time again, she proved her doctors wrong, after they had predicted a dire outcome. Her lengthy hospital stays were eye-opening.showing her that there were many patients in worse shape than she was. Through it all, she trusted God and found comfort in His love. While waiting for Him to reveal His ultimate plan for her, she made the choice to concentrate on the joy in her life rather than the sorrow. The authors' engaging writing style captured my heart and never let go. Abounding with life's lessons, this compelling book reminded me to cherish all the blessings that God has given me. As a result, I will forever reflect on my own life differently. This is one memoir I'll never forget. I highly recommend it.

I made Heather Hornback Bland's 'God Said Yes', an official 2008 Pulpwood Queen Book Club Selection, as this is one of most inspiring books I have ever read. Since then we have met Heather in person and you all, this woman is a testimony of faith and joy. You will never feel sorry for yourself again. After reading this book you will realize that we have one life and why not make that a life that focuses on the joy. You see it is our decision, our choice, this life that we live. I choose to let Heather's book be my reminder that God is LOVE. I perfect book for book clubs as there is so much to discuss here. The Pulpwood Queens give it five stars or diamonds in our mandatory tiaras, a must read! Tiara wearing and Book sharing, Kathy L. Patrick Founder of the Pulpwood Queens Book Clubs

This book is the most amazing book I have ever read. I laughed and cried throughout the entire book. The trials and errors Heather has had to face in her life is more than any one person should have ever had to deal with! She and her mother are both amazing people!

I met Heather at a wedding recently and got to listen to her talk about her story, and i was really inspired. She is a person of very strong faith and hope. She made me want to strengthen my relationship with God. I look forward to seeing her in November at Barnes & Nobles so that i can purchase her book!
