Gone by Stacy Claflin

Macy Mercer only wants a little independence. Eager to prove herself grown up, she goes to a dark, secluded park. She's supposed to meet the boy of her dreams who she met online. But the cute fifteen year old was a fantasy, his pictures fake. She finds herself face to face with Chester Woodran, a man capable of murder.

Distraught over his own missing daughter, Chester insists that Macy replace his lost girl. He locks Macy up, withholds food, and roughs her up, demanding that she call him dad. Under duress from his constant threats and mind games, her hold on reality starts to slip. Clinging to her memories is the only way of holding onto her true identity, not believing that she is Chester's daughter. Otherwise she may never see her family again.

About the Author

I love writing, reading, and watching most anything. My favorite shows include Supernatural, Vampire Diaries, The Walking Dead, Pretty Little Liars, and Once Upon a Time.

I've been writing and telling stories for as long as I can remember. As a kid, my story telling would get me into trouble when I would try to convince others that my stories were real.

When I'm not busy writing, I spend time with my family. I also educate my kids from home.

I have never read this author before this book but will be reading more of her work. The characters are well defined. The pacing is very nice. Enough surprises & twists to keep you reading.

I read this book in one sitting, I just could not put it down. all time wanted to see if she was going to be able to get away. The characters in this story are so real it is like you can feel what they are feeling. I have already purchased the next 2 books can't wait to start them

Ive bought this trilogy in real life in paperback. Its basically a story about Macy Mercer, a girl whos meeeting up with a teen boy thats her age. She was talking to the boy Jared awhile online and they decided to meet up. She snuck out and Jareds 'dad' was supposed to pick her up and take her to Jareds school. The thing is, Jared isnt real. He is a fake profile. Made up by a grown man, Chester. He kidnaps her and takes her to a barn wheere she stays for part of the story. He kidnaps her because his own daughter knew he was crazy but they took her to a mental facility because they thought she was lying. Ill leave the rest for you to read. This book and the other books are definently worth reading if you lie pychological thrillers. I reccomend it. This is coming from a 15 year old but I read the books wen i was 14.

I did not care for this book. There is no ending. Unless you want to read the remainder in the series, don't bother starting. It is not worth reading another book to find out what happened to the victim.

Wow! What a great read. Author was spot on with the clarity of characters and the story grabs ahold and does not let go, i could not put it down, this would make a great movie.

This book has repetitive scenerios, dialog and pointless. Never had an ending and lead to a second book in series. Lost interest. Not happy with author for wasting my time.

Loved this book. First time reading something by this author. I completed it the same day. Looking forward to reading the other novels in this series!

As this is the first novel I have ever read by Stacy Claflin, I will say I am hooked. Her characters are dynamic. The plot is nice and twisty - surprises rather than the old clichés. The tone and mood ebb and flow from tense and worrisome to hopeful and longing. The only bad thing about this book is having to wait to see what happens next. I can scarcely wait to visit Macy and her entourage again.

Great read, wish the rest of the series was free!
