Overview

Josie Stein saved humanity and they hate her for it.

Josie foiled a scheming, homicidal AI. She saved the Earth from the Kalmari. But nothing is good enough for Burger Supreme: they think a ray forcing everyone to have a conscience is a bad thing.

Dispatching Vesta Hartman, a captain with two itchy trigger fingers and everything to prove, Burger Supreme want the Greenstar brought to justice at any cost. Even if it means turning it to powder first.

Pursued relentlessly, Josie is faced with impossible choices: run and spend an eternity with Pol, or try to redeem the Greenstar before Vesta catches them.

About the Author

An avid reader from an early age, Simon Cantan loved to get lost in the worlds that Piers Anthony, Douglas Adams, and others created. When he read Harry Harrison’s The Stainless Steel Rat Gets Drafted at the age of thirteen, he knew he wanted to write, and has been pestering people about it ever since.
Two decades later, Simon has published several books, including the Bytarend series, Shiny New Swindle, and Hard Vacuum. He continues to write science-fiction and fantasy, usually with a humorous slant to it.

Dave Higgins has worked in law and IT for both public and private sector organisations. When not pursuing these hobbies, he writes poetry and speculative fiction.
He was born in Wiltshire, England. Raised by a librarian, he started reading shortly after birth and has not stopped since. He currently lives in Bristol with his wife, Nicola, his cats, Jasper and Una, and many shelves of books.

Reviewed by Lit Amri for Readers' Favorite Greenstar Season 2 (A Josie Stein Comedy) by Dave Higgins and Simon Cantan continues the space adventures of Josie Stein and her Greenstar crew. She foiled a scheming, homicidal AI. She saved Earth from the Kalmari. But nothing is good enough for Burger Supreme: they think a ray forcing everyone to have a conscience is a bad thing. Burger Supreme wants the Greenstar brought to justice at any cost by dispatching Vesta Hartman, a captain with two itchy trigger fingers and everything to prove. Season 1 was a fun read – Season 2 is even better. The plot is much tighter and the narrative is more flawless. Topik is my favorite character yet again. The human-hating AI is hilarious, especially with his witty but cranky and sarcastic log entries and dialogue. Topik is an extremely lovable ‘semi-antagonist’. The humor doesn’t let up even when Josie and her crew are in dire situations, which is easily one of the highlights of the story. In terms of action, Higgins and Cantan definitely don’t disappoint. The action scenes are well written and highly imaginable, and new added characters effectively contribute in moving the plot forward without a fault. This is one of my favorite sci-fi series this year. I have nothing but praise for authors Higgins and Cantan. They successfully maintained and have even enhanced the attractive traits of the series. On the whole, Greenstar Season 2 is a really enjoyable read for everyone, particularly sci-fi fans who are looking for a comical and laid back series for a change.

I liked Season 1 of Greenstar, but Season 2 was better. The character arcs were deeper and fantastic, and the authors wasted no time getting back into the action. This is definitely one series that is getting better as it goes, so I would definitely recommend it.
