Great debut from first-time author.  New authors are seldom able to knock my socks off like this one did. The writing and story are very structured and make it flow naturally into a climax that must be read to be believed.  The characters have depth.  Henry Fields, the protagonist,  is like peeling an onion and  just when you think you may have it all figured out the story throws you in another direction you didn't see it going.  I thoroughly enjoyed this book and highly recommend it to fellow readers looking for new authors to get excited about!

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Brad Carl's style of writing grabs you at the first page and doesn't leg to until the last. I don't usually read "continuation" books, but this is the exception to the rule. Mr. Carl has now become one of my favorite top two authors.

Great read!  Well thought out characters that combine to make a very suspenseful plot.  Unexpected turns throughout.  Looking forward to the next book to find out what happens.

Great read! I usually do not read many books under 100 pages, because I get into them and they end fast. I can't wait for the rest of Henrys story to unfold. Thanks, you are a wonderful writer! Keep it coming.

Given To Me For An Honest Review Grey Areas (Volume 1) by Brad Carl is a page turner but before you begin reading make sure you have your seatbelt on because you're  in for a real wild ride. Once you open the book, it will grab you and hold you down tightly and you'll watch those pages turn and turn and  turn some more until you get to the last one. You'll be going through a few twists and turns too. Although it's a fast read, it's a long story and an excellent one. Henry Fields wants to begin a new life where no one knows him. He chooses Gale, Iowa. Unfortunately, it doesn't last long. He finds himself in a terrible situation. He then finds that the only person that can help him is himself. What is Henry going to do?  Will he be able to get help from anyone? What is going to happen? Well, the ending? ........CLIFFHANGER ..... Sorry all, you'll have to wait  for Book 2. But I am sure it's out there waiting to be read. This book was such a good book, I loved reading it. I'm sure you will too. It would  look good in your library. It would also make a great gift to any book readers that you know.  I gave this book 5 stars but it truly deserves  many more. I highly recommend this book to everyone. I look for more fantastic reads from Brad Carl.

More like short story with no end. Writing, character development, mystery, plot all well done. Just do not like the lack of a proper ending. Wait til book 2.....would have been better to finish this story line and lead to possibility of future story lines. Hope the 2nd is free or I may never know what happens. A good read but be prepared not to know how it ends. Would be 5 stars if book 2 was incuded in book 1.

Why should I have to look elsewhere for the conclusion of this story?? That is impossible from the e-book I purchased and read this book from. I don't have time or interest to try to hunt for an ending, I feel like I have been baited and conned. No more "gade B" books from this author!!
