Grind (The Boys of RDA, #3) by Megan Matthews

Marissa Melrose is in for the battle of a lifetime.

Rule #9: No sex with the landlord.

Subleasing my best friend’s Bay Area apartment came at the perfect time – an easy way to escape memories of a broken engagement and start fresh. She promised the list of outrageous rules I agreed to were nothing to worry about.

Then the elusive landlord appeared next door and everything changed. Hotter than hell soccer superstar, Ryland Bates. He turns me on with his muscles and take charge attitude. Too bad every time he opens his mouth I want to shove the list of rules down his throat.

Aspen ran off with her prince charming and left me to slay the dragon.

What am I supposed to do when he starts breathing fire and sets me ablaze?

It’s time to break a few rules.

Grind by Megan Matthews Rated 5 stars Marissa subleases the apartment from Simone after she moves to the RDA building. This apartment is the famous place where the top floor is owned by Ryland Bates, a famous soccer star, also friend to Finn, Trey and Grant. This apartment comes with 10 rules that have to be agreed to before the lease is signed. Marissa feels the rules won't be a problem since Aspen said he is rarely ever there. On moving day her friends that helped her were in the apt (breaking rule 4) and she had boxes in the hallway ( breaking rule 6) when Ryland appears angrily at her door. Luckily the boys talk him into leaving and going next door. As days go by she comes home from work to find post it notes on her door telling her what rule she is breaking now. Irritating! Ryland sees Marissa sitting on the stairs one evening, injured and looking unable to walk up 4 flights of stairs. He takes pity on her and lets her use his private elevator. That is the beginning of a great friendship to turn relationship. The only problem is that Ryland got kicked off his soccer team and is now looking for another one. So if Marissa starts a relationship with him what happens when he moves away again? She doesn't want another broken heart. Finally, finally finally we get to see the whole set of rules set by Ryland to live in the apartment next door to him. I have to say they made the last few books pretty enjoyable trying to figure out what they all were. Ryland and Marissas story was not what I expected. I enjoyed her snarky attitude and honestly up until Grant said something I didn't even realize Ryland liked her that much. Great story and awesome characters….I hope it's not the last.
