About the Author

Mary Beth Crain is a journalist, editor and author whose personal memoir, A Widow, A Chihuahua and Harry Truman (HarperSanFrancisco, 2000) was a Los Angeles Times bestseller, and whose book, Guardian Angels (Running Press, 2004) has sold over 150,000 copies. A long-time believer, through personal experience, in the paranormal, as well as a Civil War buff, Mary Beth has thoroughly enjoyed researching and writing Haunted U.S. Battlefields, and hopes to meet a military ghost or two one of these days.

Troy Taylor lives in Decatur, Illinois and is the founder of the American Ghost Society. He is the author of more than 80 books on hauntings and unexplained phenomena.
