I am a huge Noelle Adams groupie and whenever she has a new book available, I immediately add it to my TBR list. Her stories always keep me engaged, happy and interested. I found Hired Bride to be especially good, since I love the marriage of convenience trope and Ms. Adams shines with her rendition of this tried and true romantic narrative.
Deanna Beaufort descends from a long line of wealthy southerners. However, times are tough these days and the big old house she shares with her sister and her marginally demented grandmother is in great disrepair. So she agrees to marry Mitchell Graves, a hotelier with a bit of an obnoxious attitude, in exchange for the money to repair her family's home. Mitchell benefits as well, for he requires a wife to complete a business deal that is near and dear to his heart. They agree to six-month marriage and end up falling in love as they go through the evolution of being a couple.
Deanna is a traditionalist while Mitchell prefers to do what ever makes life easier for him. Deanna is as beautiful as Mitchell is handsome, so on the surface, they look like the perfect couple. They are extremely attracted to one another and their sexual chemistry is very hot. They challenge each other without even knowing it.
I truly enjoyed this book. To begin with, the cover is very pretty. Secondly, Deanna's grandmother is a real hoot, thanks to her stuffed Siamese cats, orneriness, and her eclectic method of matchmaking. I am sure Ms. Adams had a lot of fun creating this character. Lastly, I found Deanna and Mitchell to be likeable, fun and kindhearted. This is the first book in the Beaufort Brides series and I am really looking forward to reading book two.

With a similar feel to the author's Willow Park series, this story of an arranged marriage follows two people with different expectations and ideals and shows how being willing to change can lead to a love worth keeping. Deanna was raised by her grandmother and feels obligated to do whatever she can to make her happy, even if it means agreeing to a business marriage with Mitchell. In return for helping him close an important deal, she'll get the funds needed to restore her family mansion. But when their six month contract is up, will it be so easy to close the door on something that has become so much more?
I really enjoyed this story! It's told from both points of view and what struck me about it was that the characters felt very real. They have their quirks and their failings and their charms. Mitchell is definitely not the perfect male character - he's handsome and charming but he's also sometimes lazy and not very sensitive. Deanna on the other hand is friendly and nice but rather prim and proper, not exactly Mitchell's type. In fact, at the beginning of their arrangement they both find things about each other that are kind of annoying, but despite this, there is still a sexual attraction between them that goes a long way towards forging their bond. Their love scenes are sexy and touching and sometimes a little awkward too. But as time passes they both start to develop very strong feelings for each other and realize that when their contract is up, all the enjoyment they've had in their relationship will fall by the wayside if they can't be honest with each other about their feelings. I liked how the story developed and though sometimes Mitchell and Deanna frustrated me by not communicating better, it made for a realistically feeling story and a sweet happy ending. 4 stars.

I totally injoy author,Noelle Adam's books. They are so full of real misunderstanding's that can mess up the way you say things or feel things. But have have great endings.L.M.A.

Although the premise of an arranged marriage isn't a new plot, the characters are. I thought that Deanna was interesting because she was real. What she did was out of love. Mitchell was strong but vulnerable.
The story did end with a conclusion... not a cligfhanger!!!

Convinience marriage maybe considered a cliche in romance novels, but what is great in Noelle Adam's novels is that she create characters that deal with real and deep emmotions not "cliches". Deanna and Mitchell are people with feelings just like anyone else and for reasons only they can understand are entangled in a marriage of convinience, they start to know each other and like and care for each other. They are surrounded by family issues and each of them survives despite of it. A great start for the Beaufort Brides series and looking forward for the next ones.

Quirky meets outspoken and the sparks are sweet and intense!

Businessman Mitchell Graves is perfectly happy with his casual relationships and no commitment lifestyle, but when he needs a way into finalizing a business deal that means a lot to him personally, he agrees to a temporary marriage to achieve it.
During their time together, they each start to see another side to each other and they actually really enjoy their time together. Will they actually still want to end this marriage when the time comes?
