About the Author

Shaiska Malca, a native of Panama, lives in Illinois, USA, with her husband, twin boys, and their dog Dexter. Inspired by her multicultural family and motivated by the pressing need for bilingual programs for children, she founded Pura Vida Talk, a Spanish language program with a mission to make learning Spanish an enriching experience, enabling children to grasp the language and connect with its cultural richness. Her dedication to Hispanic culture led to extensive research covering culture, history, and travels, ensuring an authentic representation of Spanish-speaking countries, which is fundamental to her Spanish program and book. Shaiska, a former lawyer, believes in the transformative power of language learning and advocates for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. Paola Flores, a Mexican-American illustrator with an unwavering passion for art since her early beginnings. Her journey as an artist started with award-winning traditional pieces that won her scholarships, showcasing her extraordinary talent. She holds a degree in Arts and Entertainment Technologies from the University of Texas at Austin. Her experiences in the Disney College Program at Disney World further enriched her understanding of artistic and immersive experiences. A true artist at heart, Paola's passion extends beyond visual art to playing the violin, infusing her creations with soulful melodies. She is currently a Brand Image Manager at a Marketing company and the Illustrator of our bilingual coloring book. Her unique skill set and cultural understanding bring characters, fauna, and flora from Hispanic countries to life in captivating ways. With her art, Paola aims to inspire joy and appreciation for culture, leaving a lasting impact on all who encounter her extraordinary talent.

Alexia Salazar is a passionate biologist dedicated to exploring the wonders of the natural world. With a profound love for the environment, she has made it her mission to bring the beauty of biology to life. Currently, she actively contributes to a captivating Coloring Book project, playing a pivotal role in ensuring authenticity across all biological themes. Through her involvement with Pura Vida Talk, she seizes the opportunity to share her knowledge and experiences with younger audiences, recognizing their role in shaping the future. Alexia's expertise in biology shines through as she meticulously reviews artwork and examines intricate details of various plant and animal species, skillfully blending scientific accuracy with artistic creativity.
