Sonny Johnson is fired for the first time in his coaching career, mid-way through his first losing season ever. He finds himself alone and decides to travel to the small town in Ohio where his ex-wife and their three children live. After years of just being a checkbook father, Sonny tries to integrate himself back into their lives. The surprises he encounters force Sonny to take a good look at himself and the family he left behind, in many ways, years ago.
