I live in Florida, so anything to do with a hurricane interests me. I have been through more than one hurricane, but unlike Beth in Hurricane Crimes, I have not been through a Category 5 hurricane like Sabrina. As if the storm isn’t enough, there is a murderer on the loose. The evacuation order had been given, but Beth had nowhere to go and no way to get there, so she stocked up on necessities and hunkered down to weather it out. As she watched the storm out her window, she saw the car slam into the tree. Of course, she had to go out and check on the driver. What would you have done? Its not necessarily the wind and water that will kill you, but the blowing debris. As the power struggled to stay on, she heard, Donovan Goldwyn – murder suspect. Uh oh, he was here, in her home. What would you do? It’s almost like you have no choice but to play along. There is no one to help, no one to call, no one … Would the storm affect your emotions and your libido…the danger, the adrenaline, the fear of death. Chrys had me on a seesaw, yes he’s a murderer, no he’s not, yes he is, no he isn’t. Chrys Fey does an excellent job describing Hurricane Sabrina and the destruction it brings in its wake. The ending is fantastic and I would wait out a hurricane with you, Chrys, any time. This little novella has it all. A gorgeous cover, a captivating title, a hot guy and a not so defenseless woman stranded in a category five hurricane. I picked this up on an Amazon free day and considered myself lucky.

Reviewed by Trudi LoPreto for Readers' Favorite In Hurricane Crimes by Chrys Fey, Beth Kennedy is alone in her house with Hurricane Sabrina beginning to bear down on her Florida home. As she watches the storm through her front window, a car comes zooming down the road and slams into a tree. Beth fights the elements and makes her way to the smashed car, to find a handsome man draped over the steering wheel. Beth pulls him out, drags him home, and the story begins. Donovan Goldwyn is bruised but otherwise fine. Donovan’s picture appears on the TV as a wanted man and Beth’s first reaction is to panic. As the storm rips apart Beth’s home, the two are forced to spend several hours together and they cannot deny the attraction they are feeling towards each other. As the storm’s eye passes over, the two take a canoe through the flooded streets and attempt to prove Donovan's innocence. Together, they are faced with life threatening dangers. Hurricane Crimes by Chrys Fey is a pure delight. It is a romance first and a suspense novella second, but both are combined in a perfect formula for a wonderful afternoon’s reading. Chrys Fey is a talented author who has blended the best of two genres into one wonderful story. I really enjoyed my afternoon curled up in my favorite chair and reading Hurricane Crimes. This was a love story against all logical odds, but it was impossible not to hope that Beth and Donovan would find happiness together. I highly recommend Hurricane Crimes and can’t wait to read more of Chrys Fey’s books.

This one has been sitting on my kindle for a while, waiting for me to enjoy it, and I SURE did. It's a quick, fun romance with awesome action sequences and takes the "closed door" approach on adult content.
