This is another entertaining, informative and romantic mystery. I truly enjoy Paige and Jake, how they support each other and how Paige is able to search out answers to her questions for each Western story. I enjoy meeting all the characters in each adventure, always entertaining and delightful. I hope there will be more to Paige and Jake's adventures. Thanks for an entertaining story.

Paige is constantly finding herself in the midst of trouble but she is relentless in her pursuit of finding the answers to the mysteries she finds herself wrapped up in. Being a journalist, Paige has a nose for digging far beyond what the average person took to be an answer. I love how she is ruled by her gut instinct and how she has a way with getting the information that she needs. She arrives in Hutchins Creek to write about trains and what does she stumble upon? Why, a mystery of course! Hutchins Creek sets the perfect atmosphere for a mystery and a little romance but is Paige ready to take that dive? I think this is the start of many great things to come. It is really nice to have followed this series and see the relationship develop over time rather than becoming an instant romance. The mystery will have you reading until you discover the answers - another book that I couldn't put down! I received this book to review through Beck Valley Books Book Tours, all the opinions above are 100% my own.

I'd previously read Three Silver Doves so I knew that Paige MacKenzie was a fun character and that this would be a good read. Paige and her love interest, Jake, have incredible chemistry. They have humor, love and plenty of romance without overt sexual content. I love that he is really included in this story and plays a big role in the hunt for answers. I love a good mystery and the Paige MacKenzie mysteries are really fun to read! I loved Hutchins Creek Cache (A Paige MacKenzie Mystery) by Deborah Garner and can't wait to read more in the series. I received this book to review through Beck Valley Books Book Tours, all the opinions above are 100% my own. Everything is described in detail so you really get an idea of what they are seeing, eating, etc. I felt like I was in Hutchins Creek watching everything take place. The story started a little slow for me but quickly picked up. I couldn't wait to find out just who was responsible for the coin. I had an idea of who it might be and who might be part of the scheme. I was only half right so it really kept me guessing! If you're looking for a great book to read over Fall break, this is it!

I have actually read another of this author's books, another of the Paige Mackenzie Mysteries- Three Silver Doves. I was glad to get a chance to read another. I will state again that even if you haven't read any others in the series, you should be able to jump in and read this one without any confusion. The author does a great job at character development, as well as creating likeable characters whose stories you want to follow. Of course there is a mystery and I wouldn't tell you what happens! There were times I thought that I knew whodunnit, but turns out I was wrong! Any of the books in this series or by this author are worth a read!

I am in love with the idea of being a traveling reporter! Who wouldn’t want to be able to explore quaint towns across the country (and get paid to do so)? Paige MacKenzie has a pretty amazing job…now only if she could stop falling headfirst into every trouble she can find in a small town! Old West railroad history sounds like a pretty safe thing to look into. After all, “Old West” implies that any troubles are far in the past. But, Paige, with that bloodhound nose for trouble manages to find some in the most unlikely place. Garner’s writing style pulls me right into her fictional world. I want to be able to loose myself in an Old West town, or at least Garner’s Old West town! Cute cowboys, trains (who doesn’t love the romantic aspect of a train ride?), and the chance to take life slow with out the pressures of always being reachable by phone/text.

Hutchins Creek is never going to be the same after Paige MacKenzie visits to research an article on railroads in the Old West. It seems that intrigue, and occasionally trouble, follow Paige wherever she goes and Hutchins Creek is no exception. Paige had counted on a relaxing visit to Hutchins Creek to research her next article and spend some time with her boyfriend, Jake. Little did she know she would walk into a crime that had occurred decades ago. In her research capabilities, Paige headed to the small Colorado town of Hutchins Creek. She and Jake are staying at the bed and breakfast run by the sister of one of Paige's big interview targets, the head of the local railroad museum. The family has been in railroad for generations but also had some time before the railroad where the patriarch worked at the Denver mint. Paige is intrigued by the "bird" small Sam is talking about all the time. It turns out the "bird" is a coin from the mint that was stolen. This leads Paige, sometimes accompanied by Jake, to Denver to the visit the mint and also leads her into danger. She and Jake take the coin first to a close-by expert who has been looking for the missing coins for years. This is when the trouble starts. I was thoroughly intrigued by the railroad history that was interspersed throughout the book. Deborah Garner does a wonderful job of making you think you were there as the railroad was built and when it was running. I would strongly suggest you pick up a copy of this book and give it a read. This book was absolutely phenominal! I absolutely loved the characters and the setting of Hutchins Creek. The name isn't so bad either, because I know a pretty adorable little red headed dude (my cousin's baby) who's name is Hutchens! I felt like I was following Paige and Jake around in the book, felt like I was right there with them! This isn't the first Deborah Garner book I have read, so I knew her writing style, and I knew that Hutchins Creek Cache would be a good book! Honestly, I just can't say enough good things about this book! It's great! I did receive a copy of this book as a part of Beck Valley Book Tours, however this doesn't change my opinion on the book. 100% fantastic!

This is the first Paige MacKenzie novel I've read but I did read A Flair for Chardonnay by Deborah Garner so I knew that I like her writing and her sense of humor, so I was happy to read Hutchins Creek Cache. Paige MacKenzie is a reporter who tends to get into scrapes when she's working on an article. Her boyfriend, Jake, meets up with her while she is on her newest assignment in Hutchins Creek so that they can have some time together. I love that Jake accepts how Paige is when it comes to her curiosity. He doesn't try to change her but he does tease her about it, which is funny. Hutchins Creek Cache is a quick and fun read. It's obvious that the author did a lot of research on coins and railroad lines in the west and she made it interesting to read about by including it in this mystery. I definitely recommend Hutchins Creek Cache and look forward to reading more of Deborah Garner's books. I received this book to review through Beck Valley Books Book Tours, all the opinions above are 100% my own.

Paige Mackenzie heads out to a small town in Colorado. As a reporter to do some research on a railroad. Will she find out more then she can bargain for? At First I wasn’t sure about this book but once I started it I really with and couldn’t out it down. The mystery of the small town had me turning the pages and loved learning about the railroad as well. The writing of this book was great. It felt like I was there when they were discovering the mystery of the small town. I loved it. Getting to know the characters were the best part. I enjoyed reading about them. I would definitely recommend this story to anyone. You will not be disappointed. Thanks to Beck Velley Book Tours for giving me a advanced copy of the book in exchange for my review.

Paige MacKenzie, reporter extraordinaire, is at it again. This time she's writing a completely innocent story about railroad history and combining her work trip with a getaway with Jake, who is still trying to convince her to move to his ranch. Sounds like it should be a cut a dry romance, right? Wrong! Of course Paige gets herself embroiled in a mystery. After all, when an old gold coin practically falls into your lap what else is there to do? So Paige sets off on an adventure, trying to figure out where the coin came from and who in the small town of Hutchins Creek is hiding something major. The main difference between this and her prior escapades is that Jake is along for the ride (and to try to keep her safe). Will she figure out the mystery of the coin before her time in Hutchins Creek is done? And will Jake finally convince her to settle down with him?

I was really excited to read this book having read Three Silver Doves. The brilliant thing about these books are they can be read as a stand alone and you can still follow the story with ease. Deborah didn't disappoint with her latest version and I was hooked from the beginning. I love Deborah's style of writing and how she makes you feel like you are right there with Paige experiencing everything and I love how she combined romance and mystery for this latest installment. Usually, I am spot on with guessing who done it in books like this, but Deborah had me guessing all the way through.... and I still got it wrong. I am already looking forward to Deborah's next installment.
