About the Author

Author Matthew Dawe grew up in a small town south of Boston, Massachusetts. He attended colleges in Massachusetts and Georgia, receiving his B.S. in Hotel Management in 1985. It was his mother, Nancy Anne Dawe, a successful photojournalist for over 40 years, who planted the love of stories and the seed of writing in him years ago.

Matthew has two grown children who he remembers reading to, and sometimes making up stories similar to I Have a Friend. Now living in Puyallup, Washington, after changing career paths a couple of times, he enjoys spending time with, and reading to his wife’s two grandchildren and being able to read his books to them!
