Sisters Bree and Alissa Walker share a special bond. Neglected by their parents, they have always looked out for one another. But one day, sixteen-year-old Alissa goes missing. When Bree discovers her green backpack with all her belongings, abandoned on the steps of their run-down trailer, she knows that something bad has happened …

Then she receives a chilling text message. Someone has Alissa. But Bree will have to give up something very precious in exchange.

Desperate to save Alissa, Bree looks at everyone close to their family. She’s sure that Alissa’s best friend is keeping something back about her little sister and a boy at school, and why has their estranged uncle, who they’ve not seen in years, been hanging around again?

It soon becomes clear that the person behind the message knows a lot about the dark truths within the Walker family and will go to any lengths to get revenge. And as the search for Alissa continues, Bree discovers something about her brother Tyler that she wishes she hadn’t, a dangerous secret, which is also the key to bringing her little sister back home …

If you tell anyone she dies… Bree has always been the level-headed, responsible type, looking out for her kid sister Alyssa, and working hard to keep their broken family together. When impulsive 16 year old Alyssa takes off after yet another one of their fights, Bree doesn’t worry too much. Until Alyssa doesn’t come back. And when her backpack mysteriously shows up, Bree finds a terrifying message inside that chills her to her core, and launches her into a desperate race against the clock to find her sister. But as the trail quickly goes cold, it seems Bree’s only hope of finding Alyssa lies in an anonymous text message offering help- in exchange for something else. With time running out, it’s clear what she must do. After all, she would give anything to bring Alyssa back…. wouldn’t she? Get ready for another edge-of-your-seat thriller from author Erik Therme! I Know You will take readers through some terrifying twists and turns as they follow Bree in her frantic search to bring her sister home. Along with an eclectic mix of personalities, sketchy- to downright-frightening locales, and a roller coaster plot that will leave you holding your breath (seriously, don’t forget to breathe…), the book also paints a dramatic picture of the intense power of family bonds, the haunting devastation of abuse, and just what it means to fight for someone you love. A hair-raising psychological thriller that won’t disappoint, perfect for your summer TBR list. Highly recommended!

I am a huge fan of thrillers. I love being kept on edge while reading a book and not knowing what will happen next. When I read the blurb of I Know You, I knew that this was going to be a good book. My expectation of the book was met and then some. The plotline of I Know You was frightening. When Bree sees Alissa’s backpack sitting on the steps of the trailer they live at, she has a feeling something terrible happened. Her feelings were confirmed when she gets a text that tells her Alissa has been kidnapped and not to go to the police. The kidnapper wants Bree to do one thing. She needs to find her brother, Tyler, and bring him to the kidnapper. As Bree searches for Tyler and Alissa, she learns that each has secrets. It is Tyler’s secrets that have an impact on her search. Will Bree find Alissa? What is Tyler’s secret? How will if effect Bree’s search? I Know You was a very fast paced book. The plotline flew from the minute Bree got that text to the end. There were a few times where the plotline lagged, but the author was able to pull it back on track. The characters in I Know You were dysfunctional. They were not likable. That is what made this book such a great read. Even though I didn’t like them, I could relate to them. These characters are like people that I deal with daily. That relatability made the book a good read for me. I wasn’t surprised that Tyler was somehow involved in Alissa’s disappearance. I didn’t like him. Something about him grated on me. He reminded me of people I have known in the past. I liked Bree. She was as tough as nails, and she was doing whatever it took to get Alissa back. The secrets in this book were the backbone. Everyone had secrets. Each secret was worse than the last one. There were a couple of twists in the plot that made me go huh? The first twist involved why Alissa got taken. It made zero sense to me until the second twist was revealed. That’s when I went “It makes sense now.” The end of I Know You was great. The author didn’t hold back anything when everything was revealed about why Alissa was kidnapped. I felt bad for the kidnapper. The only thing I didn’t like was the very end. It made me go “Why?” when I read it.

Bree, Taylor and Alissa grew up without a father and a mother that is working all the time. Bree has essential taken care of her siblings from the very beginning. Bree has returned how to find Alissa’s backpack on the porch and then received a text message confirming that someone has kidnapped Bree. Bree goes on the hunt for both Alissa and Taylor but discovers the kidnapper knows more about her family and is determined to get some revenge. Bree is making the best of a rough situation when she get a text message that puts her on the race to save her little sister. As we follow along we start learning the bad and horrible about the Walker family. We are also kept on our toes trying to figure out who the kidnapper could be. This is a great thriller that sucked me in and kept me in its grasp until the mad dash to the end. This is a great thriller and one to check out. I received a complimentary copy of this book. I voluntarily chose to read and post an honest review.

Nicely done thriller about a sister who has forsaken herself to care for an protect her younger sister and brother- and then that's thrown into an uproar. Alissa and Tyler have been the focus of Bree's world and now Alissa is missing and there's a mysterious and threatening note. This family has deep issues and all of those coming spooling out slowly as Bree hunts. What's Tyler's role in all this? Why won't Bree pay more attention to Liz, Alissa's friend (because she should). Thanks to Netgalley for the ARC. A good fast read with an interesting twist.

I received an ARC of this novel from Bookouture through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts and opinions are my own. I enjoyed this book from beginning to end. The plot was interesting, the twists were great, and the ending was surprising and unexpected, which is what I love about thrillers. The feeling of being on my toes while reading this was greatly felt, but as far as my emotions towards the characters and their stakes, not so much. To give a short snyopsis, this novel follows 26-year-old Bree Walker as he tries to find her sister, Alissa, who has been kidnapped. No one knows who kidnapped her, or why, but all evidence points to her younger brother, Tyler, having something to do with the reason. Bree has only until midnight to find her, so it is a race against time to find out what happened with Tyler, and why Alissa is in the middle of the situation. The premise was great, the suspense was there, the atmosphere was suffocating. All of the pieces were where they should have been for this story, and it was enjoyable! Here's my problem though: While the characters seemed rightfully scared and confused, I felt that the stakes for the individual characters weren't heightened enough. There is a certain tightness I get in my chest when I see a character freaking out about something happening or going wrong, and it makes propel further into the story to see the problem resolved. In this novel, however, that tightness in my chest was non-existent. I could not express what it was specifically that I think contributed to this lack of emotional involvement on my part, as I have no clear idea. I just felt that the character's, although they were quite literally crying or screaming in frustration on almost every page, I didn't get that feeling that there was a serious problem here. Maybe I've read too many thrillers at this point in my life, and I've become desensitized. I really wish I knew what was the problem, as everything else in this story worked for me, even the length! Overall, it was really enjoyable and a good read, but my emotional involvement was not where I wanted it to be with this story.

I Know You is a fast paced suspenseful read. I enjoyed the twists and turns the author puts the reader through while keeping them glued to the page. Getting the backstory on the family was interesting and seeing how they rely on each other through thick and thin. Also the abductor wasnt predictable which I appreciated. I’m interested to read another if this authot’s works. Read I Know You, it will keep you on the edge of your seat!

Bree and Alissa along with their brother, Tyler, did not have a terrific childhood. The dad is gone, the mother works all the time, leaving the kids alone a lot. As the oldest, Bree feels responsible for taking care of the family. Then comes the day that 16-year-old Alissa goes missing. Her backpack is on the front porch. She's not answering her phone ... Then she receives a text message. Someone has Alissa. And they want something from Bree. It becomes clear that whoever has Alissa knows their family ... and wants revenge. As Bree discovers, there are lies and even darker secrets. This is a psychological thriller about family secrets and relationships ... and what someone is willing to do to protect their family. Well written, the mystery and suspense is well paced and does not let up until the very end. Many thanks to the author / Bookouture / Netgalley for the advanced digital copy of this Psychological Drama. Opinions expressed here are unbiased and entirely my own.

Bree Walker is 26-years-old and lives in a trailer with her mother, younger siblings, Alissa, 16, and Tyler. Life has always been difficult for them as their father is an alcoholic and a gambler, and after putting up with him for many years, her mother kicked him out. Now, her mother works two jobs to pay bills. Bree also works long hours as a checker in a grocery store doing all she can to keep up and protect her siblings. One day, Bree learns that Alissa apparently has been kidnapped. She finds Alissa’s backpack sitting on the doorstep and a photo inside shows the girl sitting in a concrete cell. She gets a message that if she wants Alissa back, she has to give Tyler to this person. Thus, the race is on by the determined Bree to do anything she can to find her beloved sister. This means coming face to face with some very lowlife people to put the pieces of the puzzle together. Who took Alissa and why do they want Tyler in exchange? This is a very gritty story with characters of little or no redeeming value. I found a lot of repetitive verbiage in the story. Unfortunately, this book is a total turnoff to me and I cannot say that I enjoyed reading it at all. Copy provided by NetGalley in exchange for a fair and honest review.
