Although I've enjoyed some of Bombeck's other books more than 'I Lost' I found this to be a fun book. It's certainly well worth reading. That is if you don't mind a heaping dose of life's lessons dressed up in side spliting story telling. Who among us can read Erma Bombeck without relating our own personal lives with hers? She just took life and made it humorous. Now, that's a trick. And a pretty neat little trick at that. I cried until I laughed, and then laughed until I cried.
We get too serious about life at times, and Erma helped us see the humor in every day living. She was such a funny lady. It's so much fun to read her books and laugh about the very things that would normally stress us. It's rewarding to know that other people stress over the very things that I do, and that they can laugh it off. I like reading books of humor every so often, just as a reminder that life doesn't have to be all stress and worry. I'm sorry that Erma isn't still with us to continue writing and bringing sunshine into our 'too serious' homes. She taught us to laugh at ourselves, and with one another.
