I'll Take Manhattan
I'll Take Manhattan is a NYC retrospective using the genre of plays for maximum felt impact. Two time periods in Manhattan's recent history are featured. The Squatters' Project examines a dangerous Manhattan going bankrupt in the 1970s. Fast forward 5 decades later to Maximized Space. A dangerous Manhattan becomes ground zero for death, as COVID-19 empties the streets, and New Yorkers die on lines waiting to get into ERs. Each of the plays shows characters facing similar issues decades apart, as they struggle to carve out a home for themselves in a city under siege for very different reasons.
