The goal of this Immediate On-Demand Emergent Administrative Training program is to provide insight of the administrative training that is not taught in a clinical Respiratory Therapy (RT) program for first-time promoted RT supervisors with little or no prior supervisory experience when they initially accept an appointment. Rather than waiting a far longer time for them to learn by trial and error on-the-job this administrative training program is a resource to help inexperience RT supervisors with little or no prior supervisory experience to transition into RT management as smoothly as possible.

About the Author

My name is Irving T Spivey and while working for the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) for 24 years I achieved a Bachelor of Science degree in Respiratory Therapy and became a Respiratory Therapist. I spent my last nine years’ with the VA as the Chief of a Respiratory Therapy department and attended the Department of Veterans Affairs Graduate Healthcare Administration Program for the Health System Management Specialist position from June 2009 to June 2010 before I retired in 2012 with 32 years federal service. In retirement I went back to school and achieved a Master of Jurisprudence in Health Law Compliance and a Doctor of Healthcare Administration degree. Subsequently, I took these experiences and wrote this book.
