Sasha and Connelly are back in IMPROPER INFLUENCE, a gripping legal thriller by USA TODAY Bestselling Author Melissa F. Miller!

Even Sasha's most daunting cases to date haven't prepared her for her current challenge: finding a wedding reception venue that her mother and Connelly can both agree on.

Wedding planning woes become the least of her worries, though, when Bodhi King, a forensic pathologist for the City of Pittsburgh, comes to her for help. Young women across the city are dying, and he suspects their deaths are connected. After he voices his suspicions, he becomes a target. Bodhi needs Sasha and Connelly's assistance to unearth the truth before it's buried along with more victims -- and him, if whoever's trying to silence him succeeds.

The trail is long and dirty, leading to political influencers, backroom deals, and the biggest law firm in town. But Sasha won't stop until she frees the city she calls home from the grip of corruption--whatever the cost.

About the Author

USA Today bestselling author Melissa F. Miller is a former attorney who traded the practice of law for the art of telling stories.

As a lawyer, she clerked for a federal judge; practiced in the offices of major international law firms; and ran a two-person law firm with her lawyer husband. Now, powered by coffee, she writes crime fiction and homeschools her three children. When she's not writing, and sometimes when she is, she travels around the country in an RV with her husband, kids, and cat.

She is the author of more than two dozen bestselling legal thrillers, suspense thrillers, romantic comedic mysteries, and forensic thrillers. All her work shares two common threads: pulse-pounding, tightly plotted action and smart, unlikely heroines and heroes.

The fifth book in the Sasha McCandless series, by Melissa Furrer Miller, starts by introducing a new character. Bodhi, a Buddhist forensic pathologist, is a heart warming edition to the series. As is the case with the other books, I was completely engrossed by the story and enthralled with the characters. I could feel my heart racing with the turning of each page and couldn't turn the pages fast enough! Melissa continues the pattern where her characters are so believable and her story telling so fascinating that you feel you are walking (or running, as the case may be) the streets of Pittsburgh with Sasha and Leo. You find yourself cheering for Naya and wishing happiness and peace for Bodhi. I even found myself cheering for one of the Prescott and Talbott attorneys. The twists and turns in the story, along with the peeks into the lives of her characters, had me focused on nothing more than seeing them through the web of mystery surrounding the deaths of healthy young women. In the end of this fifth book, Improper Influence, I was left with only one feeling....a sense of tremendous anticipation for book number 6. Once again, Melissa has outdone the standard she has set and I am grateful I stumbled on book number one not so long ago. Five very bright shining stars!

Thank you! This is the 2nd [great:] book of yours that I'm reading currently. You have a gift! There are some missing words here & there, but these are cancelled out -- & then some-- by the exciting plot, realistic/interesting portrayal of the characters, and ... I could go on & on, but am anxious to get back to ~ This 5-star Fabulous book! (Might even buy another 1 or 2 - - unusual for this reader, who usually sticks to the freebies!;-)

This was a great book. Sasha is such an interesting character; bright, warm, caring and just a nice person. The stories of Sasha are believable as is her relationship with Leo. I highly recommend this series and cannot wait to read the next book on my list.

I enjoyed reading the 1st book on lawyer Sasha McCandless and had to read more. After finishing the second book, now I need to get the next book. Since Ms. Miller is an attorney makes the reading that much better. But, her research into alternate characters is wonderful. Since, I am from the Pittsburgh area, I enjoy hearing about all of popular and prominent spots around town. Keep it up Ms. Miller.

Would love to have read this book at one sitting because keeping up with the myriad of characters between my reading times was difficult.
