IN TOO DEEP is the second book in Ms. Blackburn's Dive Team Investigation series, but it easily stands alone. I did read the first Beneath the Surface and vaguely remember it, but I don't think I would've been lost if I hadn't read it. I have to say I LOVE Adam. He is so sweet and sensitive and handles teasing from his coworkers well (who call him a pretty boy because his family is wealthy). I also loved Sabrina and how beautifully clueless she was until she well, wasn't. I did kind of wonder what point her Rosita story had to do with anything in the beginning of the book, but I knew the author put it in there for a reason and so I kept it in the back of my mind and went on. The suspense is great. There is actually two different cases to solve, that are - but are not - related. Who killed the woman whose body was in the lake and why was someone targeting Sabrina? I didn't have the beginning of a clue - which is saying a lot for me with Romantic Suspense and I had to keep reading to find out. I highly recommend IN TOO DEEP if you love romantic suspense or know someone who does. Grab your copy now. I was given a copy free. All opinions are my own.

This story has it all — page turning suspense, heart racing romance, and a subtle but deep inspirational thread. I loved the twists and turns of the investigation while seeing Adam and Sabrina fall in love. I highly recommend this romantic suspense. Full review is at my website. I received this book complimentary from the author. I was not required to give a positive review. All of the opinions I have expressed here are my own.

In Too Deep gripped me! There is so much that goes on in this story. Not just suspense wise. Not just romance wise. But let’s solve a crime that’s more complex than anything you can think of. I LOVED it!! I can't wait for book 3! *I received a complimentary copy from the publisher. My review was not required not influenced.

I love books where the ending is a total surprise, so I love this one! The dive team is called in when a car is found submerged in Lake Porter with a female occupant. She is deceased and they ponder, suicide, failed brakes, was she run off the road, murder? As the investigation goes deeper and deeper they find more twists and turns. The female main character, Sabrina, is attacked at her home and almost dies, then she along with two others are almost killed when a bomb explodes within a few feet of them. When the investigation team realizes her life is in danger, she has at least one or more bodyguards 24/7. There are a few romantic sparks as well when she and Adam, from the dive team, begin being honest with each other. Even though some of the same characters appear from book one, this can still be read as a standalone. The edge of your seat suspense, the occasional humor and the romance made this an enjoyable read for me. I loved all the characters and felt like I really knew them. And the ending....totally out of left field! I never could have guessed in a hundred years. That's my kind of suspense!! I received a complimentary copy of this book from the publisher but was not required to write a review, positive or otherwise.

In Too Deep is a sensational, fast-past romance/suspense/Christian fiction full of intrigue and deception, but the characters are what I love most about this book. The camaraderie between the friends and co-workers is what brings this story to life and makes it enjoyable and believable. The romance between Adam and Sabrina is sweet, especially because Sabrina is incredibly intelligent but a bit clueless when it comes to reading people's social signals. Many books have the two love interests rushing headlong into a whirlwind romance almost from the beginning (which is definitely okay because a story often has time constraints, and that relationship sometimes needs to be established quickly); however, Adam and Sabrina have known each other for a couple of years before the start of In Too Deep. Of course, their feelings for each other were already there but needed a bit of coaxing before they could surface and be acknowledged. Once those two lovebirds finally admitted the truth to themselves and to each other, well look out! Their romance is lovely, quirky, and true. The main plot is rife with escalating danger and deadly intentions as Adam and his crew rush to decode a murder victim's mysterious message. As the clues start piling up, the team begins peeling back layers of lies, despicable greed, and betrayal, all of which hit way too close to home for both Adam and Sabrina. While these plot elements are typical in many suspense stories, they are downright explosive in In Too Deep, keeping the story racing along at a brisk clip from start to finish. The topic of human trafficking is uncomfortable to read about yet important in terms of reminding us that this ugly practice is an unfortunate reality. The Christian references and prayers from characters offer a positive backdrop to those baser plot points, providing that needed hope and encouragement in a world full of greed and hate. The author does a really great job keeping everything connected and relevant and offers a few twists that will break your heart, make you angry, and keep you turning the pages. Even if you figure things out before the end (I didn't), In Too Deep will resonate as an entertaining story about love, friendship, and family as well as a thought-provoking story about the darker side of humanity and the good people who are doing their part to combat that evil.

This is the second book in the Dive Team Investigations series by Ms. Blackburn. I loved the first book and this one was fantastic as well! This book focuses on Adam (who you meet in the first book). Adam is a dive team investigator who is called to a possible crime scene where a woman has drowned. Did she meet with foul play? Once the medical examiner examines her and discovers what she has written on her stomach, Adam decides there may be more going on than what it appears. In her trunk is a computer which brings Dr. Sabrina Fleming to the crime scene. Dr. Fleming is the dive team’s go to person to assist during investigations. Her forensic computer skills are phenomenal. Adam and Sabrina have worked other cases, but continue to find themselves together in this book. Will a romance develop between the two? As Adam is working the case, someone comes after Dr. Fleming. Is the two cases related or is it just coincident? This romantic suspense novel will keep you up and engaged throughout the book. I highly recommend this book and series! You will not be disappointed!!! ***I was given a free electronic copy of this book from the publisher. This is my honest opinion. Even though I received this copy free, this is my own opinion.

Blackburn has definitely done her research on underwater criminal investigation and cybersecurity. She uses this knowledge to enhance the mystery as she takes on the issue of human trafficking. We hear and read a lot about sex trafficking but less about labor trafficking which is the main topic of In Too Deep. The reader will be made aware of the types of jobs these people do among us as well as the types of things to notice as we encounter people from all walks of life. Dr. Sabrina Fleming may not be good at reading people, but she is a master at mining data from a computer and from the internet. This skill makes her an invaluable resource in certain crime investigations. Her friends, however, believe that this time it has also made her a prime target for people with things to hide. Police investigator Adam Campbell doesn't know what to think when it is revealed that a dead woman pulled from a lake has written him a message in permanent marker on her abdomen. Most of the time he doesn't know what to think about how Sabrina reacts to him either. During this case it is essential to figure out both of these situations and to decide what is next to be done. I believe Blackburn's readers will truly enjoy this story as many unexpected events arise and it becomes clear that not everything or everyone is what or who they are thought to be. I thank NetGalley and Revell Publishing for providing me with a copy of In Too Deep in exchange for my honest opinion. I was under no obligation to provide a positive review and received no monetary compensation.

I remember being wowed by the first book in the series Beneath the Surface. This second book In Too Deep gets a double wow. Lynn H Blackburn spins an incredible and fast-paced romantic suspense complete with non-stop action, an intricately and tightly woven plot with gasp-worthy twists, a thought-provoking look at modern-day slavery, and wonderfully memorable characters. If you enjoy contemporary inspirational romantic suspense, this book is a must read! In this book, we get better acquainted with Sabrina, the brainy, dedicated, and somewhat socially awkward professor of tech and cyber security and Adam, our diver team homicide investigator who comes from money and privilege. If you read the first book, you would already know that there is definite attraction brewing between these two but their story can definitely be read as a stand-alone. Adam is incredibly sweet but so insecure and hesitant because he’s never been wanted for who he is, only for his family’s name and money. Sabrina and Adam are thrown together again as Sabrina’s life becomes threatened and a homicide investigation spins out of control. Such nail-biting suspense!! I can’t wait for Gabe’s story next. Hopefully it will be Gabe and Anissa....? I was given a copy of this book from the author and Baker Publishing Group and was under no obligation to to post a review. All comments and opinions are solely my own.

In Too Deep is a great addition to the Dive Team Investigations series that takes place in Carrington, North Carolina. The story starts off with the dive team called to recover a car that had gone off the double bridges over Lake Porter. The victim in the car had already been recovered by a good Samaritan trying to rescue her but it was too late. It appears to be a suicide until a message on the victim's stomach addressed to team member, Adam Campbell, is noticed. In the car, a laptop, is found and local professor of cybersecurity and computer forensics, Dr. Sabrina Fleming, is called to the scene to help preserve it and recover the files on the computer. Sabrina and Adam became friends a couple of years ago and worked on a case the prior Spring. As a precaution, Adam helped Sabrina get the laptop to her lab and secured in a safe. He asked a patrol officer to periodically drive by her place that night to ensure she was safe. When she is attacked while on a run around her family's property early the next morning, it becomes apparent that someone thinks that she might find something on the computer that they don't want her to find. Security is stepped up and the team all stay together at a friend's place on the lake as the case progresses and the danger increases. The more they investigate the case, the more attempts to kill Sabrina, Adam and others. The dead victim is Lisa Palmer, an accountant, who had clients who are wealthy and appear to be involved in illegal activities. As the case unfolds, the activities are found to be not only illegal accounting practices but involve possibly human trafficking. The book grabs from the first page until the end and has all the things that make a great faith themed suspense with danger, mystery, teamwork and support among friends with a touch of faith and romance. I received a complimentary ARC of the book from Revell Publishing through NetGalley. The thoughts and opinions stated are mine only.

This has to be one of the best books released this year. The plot kept twisting and turning and considering I am an avid romantic suspense veteran, I was kept guessing until the penultimate chapter. The characters were vivid and the human trafficking thread compelling. Every time I had to put it down (babies gotta eat), I felt like I'd left South Carolina and couldn't wait to go back. Bring on the next one!

AMAZING! This book was amazing. I read a LOT of Christian suspense/mystery books and "In Too Deep" was superb. I adored Sabrina and I really want to be a part of the gang's group of friends. I loved the humor element in the book, I laughed out loud multiple times, which was a great addition to the mystery and danger of the book. This had a great mystery and the character I suspected as one of the main bad guys was completely wrong, and with the amount of cozies and suspense books I read as well as the cop shows I watch that is HARD to do. I loved the first book in this series and now with this one, this series is safely my favorite suspense series ever. I need Gabe and Anissa's story NOW! Favorite lines(some of them!): "It's not that I'm not a morning person," Anissa said. "But no one is a four-hours of sleep person. I can't even pretend to be perky on anything less than five." "We never ratted him out for being in love with Sabrina, did we?' Gabe laughed so hard he choked on his cookie. Anissa speared Ryan with her most disapproving look. Sabrina looked up from her laptop and shrugged. "You've already told me it was love at first sight, so this really isn't new information." I received this book from the publisher and author in exchange for my honest review, which I have posted above. All thoughts are my own.

For anyone who read Beneath the Surface last year, that sneak peek at In Too Deep definitely left you ready for it’s release! Good news for us all!! The wait is over. While the entire team works together to solve what initially could be labeled a suicide, the focus is on Adam, the white collar crimes investigator with a family everyone in Carrington knows and Sabrina, an intelligent professor who helps the team with all things online. Sabrina is adorable naïve when it comes to picking up nuances with body language and, sometimes, verbal hints. While she’s a genius, her social interaction make her likable. Adam’s got some issues with his family but when it push comes to shove, they love each other. Lynn H. Blackburn brings these characters to life within the pages. From their interactions with each other—the banter is great—to their professional positions, each person in this group has a unique personality. And then there is the added suspense—and oh, boy, is there a lot of it in this new release with plenty of twists and turns (a couple resulting in a few trips to Leigh’s emergency department). I loved catching up with Leigh and Ryan and getting to know Sabrina and Adam better. Next up, Gabe (and I’m hoping Anissa as I feel like things have been brewing between them for two books).I have a feeling Blackburn is saving the best for last. In Too Deep by Lynn H. Blackburn is the second book in her Dive Team Investigations series. The team is called in to investigate a submerged car. In the car was an encrypted laptop. They bring in Dr. Sabrina Fleming, a professor at the local university who has extraordinary computer forensics skills, to help recover the files on the laptop. What they find is a whole lot of trouble! The evidence will convict a whole lot of powerful people who will stop at nothing to keep their secrets hidden. This was a very fast-paced story with lots of suspense, comradery, romance and danger. I enjoyed how the whole team worked and played together as a unit. Ms. Blackburn wasn’t afraid to tackle a very tough subject, and she did it quite well. The story-line and the characters worked great together. I can’t wait for the next installment. I received this book from LibraryThing in exchange for my honest review.

I loved “In Too Deep” Lynn H. Blackburn. This book had a lot of twists and turns that I never saw coming, and I love those kinds of books! I have loved all of Lynn Blackburn’s books, and this one was no exception. She never fails to disappoint! The author did such a great job of developing the characters. It was hard not to love Adam and Sabrina (the main characters). There was a lot of suspense and a little romance thrown in. The author took a highly sensitive topic and did a great job diving in but no being too graphic. Lynn Blackburn is one of my favorite inspirational suspense authors. If you enjoy good, clean, suspense reads, you will love her! I highly recommend all her books. I received this book from the publisher through NetGalley for my honest opinion.

'An untested and unchallenged faith is unproven.' Lynn Blackburn takes us into book 2 in her Dive Team Investigations series with this offering and it's quite a good ride, too! Investigator Adam Campbell is called to the scene of a car submerged in a lake and there is a very cryptic clue on the victim. All the team have is her laptop and a few flash drives. Enter Dr. Sabrina Fleming, who is a crazy good computer forensics expert and professor. Between them and other members of the team, they hope to solve this crime quickly. However, soon Adam's family is implicated and both Adam and Sabrina have attempts made on their lives. What has the victim discovered that someone wants to keep hidden so badly that they want to murder again to keep that from happening? Deftly told, Blackburn immerses (pun intended) her readers into the action from the very beginning and keeps them occupied until the very last page is turned. I couldn't wait to finish it. Now I look forward to the next in the series very much. Highly recommended. *My thanks to the publisher and author for a preview copy of this book. My opinion is entirely my own.

I loved being back with this team, and saying hello again to old friends, but this can be read alone, but once you devour this one you will want to read the first book in this series. It didn’t take long to become completely immersed in this mystery, and page-turning to find answers. I changed my mind a few times as to what was going on. But loved the strong faith of the main characters, and with all that was happening and going on they lived their faith in God. If you enjoy a really good, action packed story this is one you don’t want to miss, it also includes some really sweet romance, and love for fellow man. I hope that there will be another book in this series! I received this book through Revell Reads Blogger Program, and was not required to give a positive review.

Second in the Dive Team Investigations series, In Too Deep is supercharged with tension and suspense as detectives try to learn why and by whom an accountant was murdered. The computer forensics consultant is assaulted, and she and part of the investigative team are almost killed by an RPG later that day. The team is a tight-knit group of highly-skilled men and women who are friends and co-workers. The underlying crimes are complex and horrible. Adam Campbell was at his family’s monthly luncheon which most family members dared not miss. Being a white-collar crime investigator and on the dive team wasn’t the kind of job a Campbell should hold, so when Adam was called in, the family was unhappy. The team was assembled when a woman’s partially submerged car is found in Lake Porter. There were no indications that she tried to swerve or stop the car, so her death was probably a suicide until the ME saw words written on the woman’s tummy in permanent marker. “They killed me. Ask Adam Campbell”. He didn’t recognize the lady until hearing her name, Lisa Palmer, in the office to see him that week when he was testifying in court. Her appointment was for the following day. A laptop was in her car, and Dr. Sabrina Fleming, a professor at the nearby university who helps the police when damaged equipment needs data restored, was called. From the day Adam met her two years earlier, he wanted to get to know her better. Sabrina is humble, yet confident in her file research and restoration abilities. Adam followed Sabrina to her lab to make sure she got in and out safely. Another officer followed her home and gave her his phone number when Adam was called to the victim’s home. The following morning, Sabrina is assaulted and left to die. From there it only gets more challenging – almost killed by an RPG later that day, Adam and Sabrina are determined to get to the bottom of Lisa’s secrets and catch whoever is behind the murder and attempted murders. The secrets they find, however, involve many families, including Adam’s and Sabrina’s. Adam, Sabrina, and the dive team are strong and well-defined, people I would want to work with. I think highly of Adam, but Sabrina and Leigh, fiancé of team member Ryan, are my favorites. They are women who have grown through challenges and trials. Being an introvert, I appreciate Sabrina’s reticence and how Leigh gently draws her out. Adam and his friends are believers whose walk match their talk, including praying for what their needs. This novel is intense and riveting from beginning to end. The action rushes from one clue to the next, resulting in discovery of the depravity of the underlying crimes. Despite where the investigation leads, the team persevered to seek justice. I enjoyed watching Adam’s grandmother change through the investigation. Adam’s family, with a lifetime of being part of a town founding family that owns about a third of the town, doesn’t protect their own from justice for the grievous crimes. It was a challenge to accept that these are crimes prevalent around the country today; I learned a lot. Much is packed into these pages, making it a novel that appeals to many who appreciate Christian thrillers laced with a bit of romance. I highly recommend In Too Deep; it can be read as a standalone, but don’t miss the first novel, Beneath the Surface. From a grateful heart: I received a copy of this from the publisher and author and was not required to provide a review.

This is one very intense book that kept me guessing throughout the story. The author delivers a story rich in a mystery that will put people in danger. I love how the author incorporates computer technology into the story with details that remind me of shows on television. Adam and his team are called upon to investigate a crime that leaves the team grappling for answers. Who is the mysterious woman found and what message will be discovered on her? Adam will have to call upon his friend Sabrina to help his team out. Sabrina is very intelligent and highly trained in computers. I couldn't get enough of her expertise and how accurate the author is in Sabrina's knowledge. Sabrina is getting closer to the truth and someone out there needs to stop her. When her life is in danger, Trent steps up his protection of her. This book is one of the author's best at keeping the story interesting and action packed. Just when I thought I had figured out a part of the story, the author throws a curve that I never expected. I loved the part when Sabrina visits the victims home. I loved following her around the room as she took in every detail. The story moves at a face pace and is filled with surprises and secrets from the past. Sabrina has not had the best relationship with her parents, especially her mother. As you delve further into the story it becomes clear that there is a much deeper secret to what the team and Sabrina is investigating. I was shocked at how sinister people can be and dysfunctional a family can become to gain power, control and cause destruction. Get ready for a powerful story that takes readers in to the depths of darkness. I received a copy of this book from The Early Reviewers Program of Librarything. The review is my own opinion.
