The Allmers live on native leasehold land in British Columbia, with their adopted son Wolfie, a sensitive First Nations sixteen-year-old with cerebral hypoxia. Wolfie—caught in the middle of an intense, unhappy mother and a resigned father—is the pressure point that continuously gathers heat. When his suppressed tension begins to surface, an unspeakable tragedy sends the family into a visceral tailspin.
