About the Author

Erin Rovin lives in New Orleans with her daily dose of inspiration: a daughter, Story. Rovin wrote for multiple entertainment websites while living in Los Angeles and created a weekly fashion column for a local newspaper while in Pennsylvania. She also wrote for an online site as a New Orleans City Guide, interviewing locals on what makes NOLA so special and covering regional events. Illustrator Kay Meadows is an award-winning artist and illustrator. Her preferred medium is watercolor, but she has worked in pencil, charcoal, pastel, and acrylic. A graphic designer, she has traveled around the world as a Book of Hope Foundation missionary and has worked in the publishing industry, designing and illustrating content for books, including It's Hot in Louisiana, It's Raining in Louisiana, Louisiana Animals ABC, and Chili Time, Y'all!: How Texas Found Its State Cuisine, also published by Pelican. She lives in Brandon, Mississippi, where she is inspired by nature and her dogs, cat, and four colorful, noisy chickens.
