Ivan Vasilyevich is a play by the outstanding Russian writer and playwright Mikhail Bulgakov. The plot is based on castling in time, when, due to a malfunction in the operation of a machine invented by engineer Timofeev, the Moscow manager of the Bunsha house, together with the swindler Georges Miloslavsky, move to the 16th century, and Tsar Ivan the Terrible falls into the 20th century... The comedy served as the basis for the famous film by Leonid Gaidai "Ivan Vasilyevich Changes Profession", in which the action was transferred to the 1970s. Other famous works of the writer are The White Guard, The Master and Margarita, Heart of a Dog, Theatrical Romance, Notes on Cuffs, Fatal Eggs, Notes of a Young Doctor, Diaboliad.
