About the Author

With the help of her guidance counselor, Aisha Young was able to turn her passion for helping senior citizens into a lifelong career. Author Aisha C. Young is a native of Colorado. She earned a B.S. in Gerontology from Bethune-Cookman University, an M.A. in Gerontology from the University of South Florida, and a ThM from Xavier University of Louisiana. In 2009, she founded African Americans in Gerontology. Currently, Aisha is a Doctor of Ministry candidate at Emory University. As a Gerontologist, Chaplain, and Womanist Theologian, she finds pleasure in civic engagement. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, crafting, and spending time with her amazing daughter.
