Another sweet story in the Amish Girls Series.  While this book is part of a series, it is a delightful book that stands alone.  As always, author J.E.B. Spredeman has created a story that leaves the reader with a gentle, peaceful feeling.  The book is listed as a young adult/teen fiction book, but I thoroughly enjoyed it and couldn’t put it down. I enjoy Amish fiction and J.E.B. Spredemann is a master at creating stories that depict the Amish life and their faith.  I would recommend this book to others who enjoy this genre.  I have read other books by this author and really enjoy her simple, down to earth writing style.

I enjoyed the first book in this series. Joanna's Struggle. I just could not put it down. It was easy to read and  enjoyed  how Joanna uses her faith in God to get her through her abduction and how she was able to for give the man that abducted her. I look forward to reading  the next book in this series.

This book is classified as Young Adult Christian (Amish) Fiction, but would easily be enjoyed by adults as well. It is a quick easy read that will keep you turning the pages as the story unfolds. The author begins each chapter with a scripture that becomes the theme of that chapter, which makes it ideal for teaching the relevance of scripture in our everyday lives. I especially like the way the truth of scripture is used within the story to stress that salvation is a gift through God’s grace alone, rather than anything we can merit on our own. Joanna is a young Amish girl who is the victim of abduction. Feeling alone and afraid, she tries the only thing she can think of to get away. But will her plan work? Being brought up in the Amish church, she knows that forgiveness is necessary, but can she find it in herself to forgive this man for this violation that continues to haunt her? Ever wonder what impact your actions have on other people? Joanna’s abductor has had a great impact on her life, but what impact will she have on his? Prayer, friendship, Bible study, forgiveness, courage and freedom are interwoven into the story line to develop the reader’s Christian character. I would highly recommend this book, and I look forward to the remaining books in the Amish Girls Series. My special thanks to the author for providing a copy of the book in exchange for my honest review. All opinions stated within this review are mine, and no further compensation has been made to obtain a positive review.

** Okay, short story. Joanna gets abducted at the end of a mud sale. Her abductor takes her to a Walmart restroom to change clothing, where Joanna bumps into an aquaintance. Joanna escapes and is haunted by dreams reliving the experience. She and her family come to know God's saving grace. They in turn lead their bishop to the Lord. Joanna forgives her abductor. Simplistic story, which was written okay, making it an okay story. ** esk 08/2017 **

Joanna's Struggle by Author J.E.B. Spredemann is Book One in the Amish Girls series and it's a great book. I enjoyed reading this book and became so involved in the book, I had to keep turning the pages to see what would happen next. Even though Joanna's Struggle is a fiction book, I love how the author brings out wonderful messages we can use for our lives. This book is written for teenage girls/young adults and I highly recommend and believe they will enjoy reading this book, but I feel adults will enjoy reading this book also. I received a complimentary copy from the author in exchange for my honest review. This review is one hundred percent my opinion.

Joanna’s Struggle ( Amish Girls series book 1 ) by: J.E.B. Spredemann This is the first book in the Amish Girls series and I really enjoyed it very much. At times I caught myself saying NO, NO, and sitting on the edge of my seat. Seem like I could not read fast enough to see what was going to happen next. The life of a young girl changes after the Mud Sale in Paradise Pennsylvania. I felt sorry for her and the struggle she was going through. There is a little bit of mystery and love weaved into Joanna’s Struggle and I really liked it. Spredemann has penned a wonderful start of a new series. I also like the way she adds scriptures at the start of her chapters, and the scriptures that is woven all through the story.  I was given a copy of this book by the author for my honest review, which I have given

Joanna's Struggle (Amish Girls Series - Book 1) By: J.E.B. Spredemann This is book 1 in the Amish Girl Series. I really enjoyed it. All the characters are all well written. Joanna a Amish girl who lives in Paradise, Pennsylvania. Seems like a happy girl loves riding her horse and being family and her friend Chloe. Everything seems to be going well till the day of the mud sale. Something happens to Joanna that changes her whole outlook on life. Can Joanna learn to forgive? Can she over come her fears? Will her Christian Faith hold strong to get her through this? I loved the book. Written for young girls but great story. I plan on getting these for my granddaughter. 5 Star book. Looking forward to book 2 A review copy of the book was provided in exchange for my honest opinion.

I was given this book to review and was very happy about it. It is a wonderful story for a young teen or tween about the power of prayer and family. It is not a long book but grabs your attention from the very first page.

In today's world, with teen role models growing scarce, J. E. B. Spredemann has written an endearing tale of teenage girls who struggle with life among the Amish and Englisch world.   Joanna finds forgiveness in the first book in the Amish Girls Series.   I would highly recommend this book to teens and adults alike.    A local Mennonite woman leads Joanna and her family on a new and glorious past and readers will delight in finding the same path for themselves.  I was given a copy of this book by the author in exchange for my honest review.
