Overview

The story of a Midwestern family’s heartbreaking loss — and what they have since found.
A small-town Wisconsin girl living in Chicago with her fiancé, Andrea Haberman flew to New York on her first-ever business trip late on the evening of Sept. 10, 2001. She walked into the north tower of the World Trade Center for the first time in her life at 8 a.m. on Sept. 11 and made her way to the 92nd floor — just 45 minutes before terrorists flew a Boeing 767 into the floors directly over her head.
Just a Few Sleeps Away is a true story of devastating heartbreak. It is, too, an inspiring story of courage and faith and the pursuit of justice amid overwhelming grief. It is a book of discovery about both the endless reverberations of 9/11 and what one victim’s family came to see as the fundamental goodness of America.

Twenty-five percent of the net proceeds of every book will be donated to a 9/11-related charity of the Haberman family’s choice.

Really enjoyed the book. I think it made me understand more about day to day living. You have to live for the future but today (present) is going to be more meaning full to me now.

I went to snc with andrea and al. I found out that andrea had been in the tower a few days after. Thank you for sharing the story. I think of her every year, often shedding a tear for her, al, and her family. God bless you all. Thank you to the author for writing this book.

I just finished reading this story. Truly puts into perspective how the littlest decision can change your life. I live in Wisconsin and grew up here my entire life. I can't imagine what the families had to go through and still are dealing with every day!!!

I had difficulty following the flow of the book. Too much detail and skipping around. The grammatical errors were very distracting to me. It was very difficult to get through this book and it should have been a very quick read. I was dissappointed to say the least.

I ordered one book and read it . After reading it I purchased 9 more copies and gave one to each of our children. It was well written and tells the agony that many people suffer here in this world. As has been stated before "why do bad things happen to good people" - only God knows. Here in the United States we do have it very good but not all of our American Citizens can accept the fact that this is the best Country in the world to live in. God Bless America!!

Like a pebble in a pond, Just A Few Sleeps Away is a story of the never-ending reverberations from 9-11 for one Wisconsin man. Following the loss of his daughter in the 2001 tragedy, Gordie Haberman's response to his incredible loss is inspiring, not just from Haberman's actions, but also those of so many strangers who reached out to provide comfort and sustenance to Haberman and his family. This quick read will restore your faith in humanity.
