"A heartwarming tale that celebrates the best things about being Amish." —Christian Fiction Addiction

While a young Dokterfraa learns to heal the body, the Great Physician heals the heart ...

Sarah Yoder is learning to serve her Old Order Amish community as a Dokterfraa, creating teas and tinctures from the herbs in her garden and fields. But her latest patient isn't responding to anything she concocts—a woman who, in Sarah's mind, would be better off in any place but the one she has.

Meanwhile, Sarah's relatives can't resist doing some matchmaking between her and a prosperous visitor to their community. She should be willing for God to show her His choice of partner ... and not allow her friendship with her neighbor, Henry Byler, to grow into anything more. Henry has seen some success as a potter since a major store chain commissioned his work. The trouble is that they want to market him as Amish. Though he was raised in the faith and now lives in Amish country, he never joined church—and doesn't plan to. Which also means that, despite the attraction between them, he must keep his distance from Sarah.

The plant Sarah calls keys of heaven may grow in impossible places, but it's not that easy for people to find the place where they really belong. So it's quite a temptation to take matters into her own hands ...

This is the second edition. First published by Hachette FaithWords in 2015.

About the Author

Adina Senft grew up in a plain house church, where she was often asked by outsiders if she was Amish (the answer was no). She holds an MFA in Writing Popular Fiction from Seton Hill University in Pennsylvania, and is currently at work on a PhD in Creative Writing at Lancaster University in the UK. Adina was the winner of RWA's RITA Award for Best Inspirational Novel in 2005, a finalist for that award in 2006, and was a Christy Award finalist in 2009. She appeared in the 2016 documentary film Love Between the Covers, is a popular speaker and convention panelist, and has been a guest on many podcasts, including Worldshapers and Realm of Books. She writes steampunk and contemporary romance as Shelley Adina; and as Charlotte Henry, writes classic Regency romance. When she’s not writing, Adina is usually quilting, sewing historical costumes, or enjoying the garden with her flock of rescued chickens.
