Overview

Kill or Be Killed, Volume 1 by Ed Brubaker

The bestselling team of ED BRUBAKER and SEAN PHILLIPS (THE FADE OUT,
CRIMINAL, FATALE) return with KILL OR BE KILLED, the twisted story of a young man forced to kill bad people, and how he struggles to keep his secret from destroying his life.

Both a thriller and a deconstruction of vigilantism, KILL OR BE KILLED is unlike anything BRUBAKER & PHILLIPS have ever done.

An awesome read. Thw story was interesting and the art was great. I can't wait to read volume 2, I'm hoping it will be as good as this one!

I love me some Ed Brubaker. He and Sean Phillips once again team-up and once again its fantastic! A crime thriller with supernatural notes with pitch perfect dialogue. The protagonist wants to be happy and his struggles lead him on a scary path and asks the question, "What is evil?" The art by Phillips is grim and life-like. This was a great start to another great collaboration.

Another Brubaker and Phillips triumph Dylan makes a deal with a demon to kill "bad" people after attempting suicide. The comic collection revolves around his character and the decisions that he makes as well as those close to him. He becomes a vigilante of sorts. More volumes will follow. As usual, the creators have produced a gritty, well-written and clearly-illustrated chef d'oeuvre and fans of Brubaker and Phillips will certainly not be disappointed. Highly recommended.
