Chapter One
Koobla settled down onto the warm desert sand and began to daydream.
I wonder what it's like to be an Elephant, he thought.
Elephants were very big and mysterious. They always seemed to be going somewhere, and they always followed their leader.
'I really really wish that I could be an elephant right this minute,'
Koobla begged, with a mighty yawn.

dripping wet.
Koobla tried to wriggle his legs, but they kept sinking into the mud.
'Hey, I'm stuck. I can't move. Help! Get me out of here,' he shrieked.
The elephants laughed and bellowed.
'You are a very peculiar elephant,' they jeered. 'Wherever did you get those weird, skinny camel legs?
'I don't think I want to be an elephant any more,' Koobla wailed.
