En La calentura Theudia comenta con Romano la vuelta del rey Rodrigo.

Despreciado por don Pelayo, el rey se encuentra con su antigua amada Florinda, quien lo visita poseída por la locura. Al final de la obra Florinda muere, Rodrigo huye a las montañas y se continúa así la mitificación del rey derrotado por los árabes en Guadalete.
