This board books has it all! I'm a bit of a book nerd, so the first thing I immediately loved was simply the quality of the book. You know how some board books are kind of flimsy and easily tear up? NOT THIS BOOK! These book is thick, sturdy and more than ready for lots of little hands. My boys (ages 3 and 2) have handled these books a LOT and they still look brand new. Then there are the gorgeous illustrations. I find myself wanting all of the books in the Baby Believer collection simply because they are pretty of enough to be used for decor in a nursery or kid's room. But beyond quality and look of this book, the content of this board book is what sets it apart! In "Let there be Light: An Opposites Primer", Danielle Hitchen creatively tells the story of creation using opposites. As a former teacher and as a mama, I love everything about that! I love that I am able to use a story from the Bible to teach my boys a skill that is important. Another thing that I love is that for the opposites above/below and over/under, you have to turn the book sideways so the definition of these words are actually evident to the kids. (Little details like that make my heart happy!) This book is great for all ages because you can make it work for where your child is developmentally and spiritually. For instance, with my youngest (2) we really focus on the opposites words which are in big letters and we tell the story of creation. With my 3 year old, we continue to do that...but we ALSO read the scripture. I would highly recommend this book for parents....but I would also recommend this to churches. I help with the children's ministry at my church and this would be an amazing gift for baby dedications and it would also be a wonderful addition to the nursery bookshelf! This book is the perfect way to start planting seed of truth into the lives of little ones.

“Let There Be Light” by Danielle Hitchen is one of the cutest things I’ve read. The board book is from the Baby Believer Primers series whose purpose is to acquaint little ones with scripture and theological terms. “Let There Be Light” functions both to introduce children to scripture and opposites such as light and dark, wet and dry. With excellently chosen verses on each page to show God’s creative power and His wonderful creation, this book is perfect for you and your little ones to go through and discuss. For the older children, the book will serve as a great place to begin memorizing sctipture. The artwork is also unique and pleasing; the font matches the aesthetic of the board book beautifully. I’m sure children and adults alike will enjoy reading this book together.

We love this book! These Baby Believer books are seriously incredible. My two year daughter loves being able to read the big words like “above" and "below” and then I read the scripture to her after. It’s such a fun way to incorporate scripture into our daily lives and the illustrations are again, absolutely gorgeous just like every other Baby Believer book!

I was given this book by NetGalley in exchange for my honest review. This is such an attention-getting book for little ones. Through this book children can be introduced to how God created all. Each page has a little reading about God, then the colorful pictures have the opposite word written in big print. So one page may say "Wet" over the water that God created and then the next page will have "Dry" for the land. This book makes my heart soar as I think about reading it to my grandchildren. I recommend this to parents, grandparents, classrooms, to everyone with a little one in their lives.

We love all the baby believer books. Unlike many Christian children’s books these typically contain a whole scripture verse(s) to go along with each page not a watered down version. Each book topic is carefully thought out to captivate the attention of young children while not staying to far from scripture. The illustrations are beautiful! These books can be used by a variety of ages. With my infant/toddler we just look at and talk about the pictures and opposite words. Then with my preschooler we also read the scripture verses.

I am very impressed by this book! It is doctrinally sound, which is a huge fresh of breath air when I'm looking for books that aren't watered down for my daughter. It has some different opposites highlighted within scripture. It has led for me to talk with my daughter about deeper theological thing than I thought imagined. She also loves to talk through a lot of the picture! I can see myself extending this book for her when she gets older, so I would recommend it for a variety of ages. You won’t be disappointed! I received Let There Be Light compliments of Harvest House Publishers in exchange for my honest review.

I love all of the Baby Believer books! If you are seeking a beautifully designed and intelligently crafted book for your child, look no further! Together my daughter and I read the scripture, and she looks at the images like they are works of art. We love reading these books together. I personally enjoy the fact that these books have scripture, as well as teach my child basics of life- like opposites, animals, and movement. If I could, I’d frame these pages on her wall—they are THAT GORGEOUS! These books would make a great baby shower gift, birthday gift, or Christmas gift!

Another Baby Believer book that has hit it out of the park! I'm a sucker for any sort of opposites/basic learning book. But this board book is gorgeous and such Truth can be drawn out, it almost seems unreal. Our God is a God of order and complexity and simplicity at the same time. Indescribable to our finite minds. This book captures that. Complex ideas placed in a simple book with beauty all around. Well done Baby believer! Truly a favorite in our home (and not just the kids'!)! Go buy them all, you won't regret it!

I love this whole series of books as the art is gorgeous and eye-catching and the lessons are written in a way that young children can understand while not being watered down. I've been working with my 2-year-old son on opposites, so it's fun to teach him those concepts while also reading Bible verses.

I truly love the way this author writes for readers to young children. I enjoyed this book (and the other books in this series). The illustrations grabbed by attention as well as the words boldly listing opposites. The integration between the Bible and this book flows in an easy to read but heart-filling format. I will read this to my children and share with my friends.

Let There Be Light: An Opposites Primer is a board book that is carefully crafted to teach the youngest minds biblical truth. Living in an age with so many “watered-down” Christian kid books around, this doctrinally-based book is a breath of fresh air. This book beautifully highlights opposites within the context of Scripture. The illustrations are wonderfully done--very colorful and engaging--even for the smallest of readers! My daughters, 6 months and 2 years, have loved reading this book over again and again, and I know my girls will love this book for years to come. As they grow older, I can envision continuing to read this book and extending on its concepts. I would highly recommend this book! You won’t be disappointed! I received Let There Be Light compliments of Harvest House Publishers in exchange for my honest review.

I have been searching high and low for a resource like this for my toddlers! I wanted to find simple yet theologically sound books to begin to lay a scriptural foundation for my children. I have finally found the whole package in the "Baby Believer" books! The concepts are laid out incredibly simply, yet also beautifully with eye catching illustrations. We have already purchased additional books for gifts! We can't wait to share them with friends.

Our family loves the books in the Baby Believer series, and "Let There Be Light: An Opposites Primer" is no exception! Each two-page spread takes a simple concept (opposites) and along with the beautifully captivating illustrations, introduces Scripture to our children. I love that this book is able to reach all three of my children (4, 2 and 9 months) at their individual levels. My three girls love the gorgeous illustrations, and for my 9 month old, that's perfect for her right now. My older daughters are enjoying learning the opposites in addition to looking at the pictures, and my 4 year old is even beginning to memorize small chunks of some of the verses! As an added bonus, I'm memorizing the verses, too, just from reading with my girls. The very first time I read this book with my daughters, my oldest pointed out the dinosaur on the Large/Small spread because they happen to be one of her favorite things. I love that this book, which outlines the Creation story through various Bible verses, includes this dinosaur, as they are often left out of Christian children's books. I can't say enough about how wonderful this book is and what an excellent tool it is for sharing God's Word with little ones!

We all know how important to reading to our children is and sometimes finding quality books is even harder. Even more than that, children’s books that contain actual scripture is a rarity. The Baby Believer books are one of a kind. They are well made with thick pages, the illustrations are gorgeous, and it uses Bible verses in a way I’ve never seen before. It not only teaches the Word to little ones and helps build their foundation of faith, it also teaches the practical things we want our children to learn. Let There Be Light is a beautiful opposites primer that teaches opposites such as light/dark and day/night, but more than that it uses scripture as the basis for teaching these concepts. Such a thoughtful, intelligent approach to teaching our children how Scripture fits into everyday life, even from the beginning of their lives. My children ages 1-6 love these books and I intend to be gifting them for baby showers, birthday parties, and as Christmas gifts to everyone I know with little ones.

I love this book! It's a decent sized board book, very sturdy pages, and BEAUTIFUL colors and illustrations. Each spread features a pair of opposites that were present during the creation week. But, my favorite part is that the scriptures used are not all from Genesis. There is a wide variety of quotes drawn from all over the Bible, and the natural poetry and majesty of scripture gives the book much more weight than your average opposites book. My only 'complaint' is that, my 18M old is the perfect age for the "opposites" part of the book, and the bold pictures. But, he does not want to sit and wait for me me read the scripture on each page. While, my 4 (almost 5) year old will listen to the scripture, but already knows all his opposites, and wasn't that excited about reading the book more than twice. Maybe a 2 or 3 year old would be the perfect age? Here's hoping! In any case, I would highly recommend this for any parent who wants to introduce biblical content to their child's life in a beautiful, meaningful, engaging, truthful way.

This book is beautiful on so many levels! The illustrations and the colors used are gorgeous and engaging for all three of my children (ages 1, 3, and 5). I love the scripture verses used on each and every page...this book has made it fun and simple to speak truth to my children during story time. And for my younger kiddos, they are also learning the concept of opposites all while hearing the Word of God....yes! I highly recommend this book and I plan on purchasing several as gifts for friends and family with little ones. I so appreciate the hard work that was obviously put into this book for us to enjoy and use to teach our kiddos about the Lord as well as some basic concepts of opposites. I did receive a copy of "Let There Be Light" in exchange for my honest review.

Our family truly loves Danielle’s new book Let There Be Light! Reading is a one of my favorite things to do with my daughter and I love that when we read this book together it is getting her familiar with Scripture and hiding God’s Word in her heart from a young age, while teaching her about creation and opposites. This is a great resource to have as a parent to bring about conversations about the gospel with your kids from a young age. We have another baby on the way and I know we will enjoy reading these together even from the newborn age. I love that the books are board books (very quality) and a perfect size for young children. The artwork is simply stunning! The color palate is beautiful. Even I am memorizing Scripture more from reading with her. These make the perfect gift for birthdays, Christmas or baby showers. I received Let There Be Light in exchange for an honest review, all opinions are my own.

I received a copy of this book in return for my honest review. I have read many, many books to my children, and the illustrations in this book are second to none. It is so beautiful and enjoyable to me as well as my kids. My 1 year old will repeat the opposite words with me (like "quiet" and "loud" on the first page) with gusto and point to the appropriate page with the words. My 4 year old can appreciate the slightly longer (yet still concise enough for preschoolers) scripture portions on each page. I love that this book takes my kids chronologically through the story of creation. I would absolutely recommend this book to my friends with young children.

I can't say enough good things about this book! I randomly found the First Bible Basics and Psalms of Praise books at Barnes & Noble a few months ago and immediately fell in love with how they're written and the illustrations! My son loves this book and I must say, it's quickly become a favorite of mine as well! The illustrations are gorgeous as you can see in the photos I've added and I love how the author uses Scripture from the whole Bible to tell the story of Creation while also using 'opposite' language as a learning tool for the kids! I also love how the book starts on the first page instead of having to turn through the title page to get to the main content. This book (and all the other Baby Believer books) are seriously a must-have for your family! You are able to simply speak truth into your little ones in a way that they can understand and engage with! Perfect as a gift for a new momma, a birthday gift, or for yourself!

This book is one of my children's new favorites! I have 6 children and from my 10 month old to my 10 year old, everyone was delighted with "Let There Be Light." The illustrations are bright, bold and beautifully done. I love that this book teaches the basic concept of opposites with truths from the Bible. It helps children to learn that God made the world and every part of it is His design. Each day of creation is displayed by lovely artwork and the concept of an opposite. I love that these things are woven together into a simple and beautiful little book. Plus, we are all learning scriptures together and these are not the typical watered-down passages you see in children's books, but rich and meaningful ones that we would all benefit to memorize! The pages are sturdy and the size is perfect for small hands. I highly recommend this for your own children, grandchildren, or as a baby shower gift!

Let There Be Light: An Opposites Primer is one of the latest books in the Baby Believer series by Catechesis Books. I have really enjoyed being on the launch teams for all the books in the Baby Believer series thus far because these books are faithful to teach little ones the truths of God's Word. What I really appreciate about Let There Be Light is that along with teaching the basic concept of opposites, each illustration has a verse of Scripture that ties into what is pictured. I read this book to my toddler last week and when she saw it yesterday, she asked me to read it again. She had already memorized the title and was very excited to read it as she is drawn to the lovely illustrations. Although these books are designed to help the youngest hearts I love that they create a way for me to memorize Scripture as I share it with my daughter. If you are looking for a way to teach your child Scripture from an early age in a manner that is practical and exciting, I highly recommend Let There Be Light along with all the books in the Baby Believer series. I received Let There Be Light compliments of Harvest House Publishers in exchange for my honest review.

The illustrations are captivating and lovely. I really like that they aren’t cartoony and that they capture many details without being overwhelming or “loud”. There is obviously a lot of thought and care put into which Scripture is used. This primer book focuses on teaching a simple, foundational idea like "opposites" to young children while simultaneously teaching Scripture related to the story of creation. I love that these concepts are mingled together and I'm teaching my children basic ideas and also theology! The gifts that these 2 women have for creating theology books for children blows me away! As a mama of 3 little ones (19m twins and 3 year old) with the desire that my children would each come to a saving faith in Jesus Christ, I’m immensely thankful the hard work and dedication that goes into these books. It's important to me to teach Scripture to my kids and not in a watered-down way that I've found many other books to be. This book has Scripture on every page! My 3 year old can easily recite the main opposite words on each page and is already recalling some of the Scripture that goes along with it.

We love the Baby Believer books in our home! What a genius idea to take simple developmental basics - like opposites - and incorporate them into a book like this! Every parent wants to teach their kids the basics like this (just look at all the other books on opposites that are available); why not add in Bible verses and teach them THE most important thing at the same time?! The pictures are beautifully done and the creation story is easy to follow. My kids (ages 1, 3, and 6) all love it and my older two can easily recite the main opposite words on each page. I seriously wish I could buy each Baby Believer book for every one of my new mom friends. This is now my go-to baby shower gift!
