Pookie's mother leads her piglet in a little dance to a Pookie-Pookie beat. This dance involves hopping, marching, reaching, and shimmying. This is perhaps my least favorite of Sandra Boynton's books, possibly because my children are still a little young to follow the steps of the dance. That said, it is still a fun book, with an excellent rhythm and beat.

a book about pink pigs who wanted to get physical. They followed directions like twist, hop, twirl, etc. A child could easily join in the fun by following the directions.

we love Sandra Boynton and many of her other books, but this one just felt uninspired. Her writing is usually so snappy, but the writing here feels forced, and Julian really didn't find it interesting or learn anything new from it.

Good for new babies-who, we all know, love to kick up their heels even if they can't stand on them yet! Simple text, yet interesting enough for an older child to share with a young sibling. Provides a script for some active fun, possibly an inspiration to make-up more.

This book brings a smile and laughter into the readers' hearts and lives along with the desire to go and do likewise!
