“You can’t go wrong with a Chris Keniston book!” RaeAnne Thayne, New York Times bestselling author of the Haven Point series.

Shenanigans and romance abound in the new Hart Land series from USA TODAY bestselling author Chris Keniston. Fall in love with the lakeside small town of Lawford, retired Marine Corps General Harold Hart, his artistic wife Fiona, matchmaking housekeeper Lucy, and his nine single granddaughters. Did we say single? Well not for long!

Firefighter Cole McIntyre figures his plum assignment to a placid lakeside small town is just his good luck. Until an early morning incident confines him to a cabin. Toss in a beautiful, pastry baking redhead, and keeping up his regimented lifestyle and healthy diet proves to be a bigger challenge than he’d expected. Especially since it’s more than Lily’s sweet baked treats he’s finding irresistible.

Another matchmaking fiasco behind her, Lily Nelson has sworn off men. Which is just fine since her lifelong dream of owning her own bakery is almost within reach…maybe. Now more than ever, she needs all her wits about her to balance her noisy, no-boundaries friends and family, find a signature pastry, and look after a handsome firefighter. Not that Cole isn’t easy on the eyes, he just might be too easy on her heart.

I totally enjoyed the story line of Lily and Cole. She is a pastry chef, he is a firefighter and they meet under very crazy circumstances. They get to know a little bit more about themselves while they are trying to learn about each other. It's a feel good love story, and I absolutely adore Lily's family. Her sisters and cousins, and grandparents have a wonderful family feel too. Kudos to Chris Keniston for another wonderful story! I can't wait to read the next one.

Good book

Good read...but have a few comments: 1) why was nothing mentioned about Heather and Jake until the last chapter??? It's as if they weren't even part of the family. 2) the last chapter mentioned 2 soon-or-be grandsons....what was that about? No mention of them at all in the book preciously. Totally from left field...

Fun story about Lily who is looking to start a bakery in her lakeside resort hometown. But complications and distractions arise….mainly a very good looking fire fighter she has to nurse back to health. Engaging character make this hard to put down. Read it in one sitting.

Hot, Sweet, and Hilarious! Lily is as fun as it is romantic. Baker Lily has decided that she does not have a place in her life for men as she works to purchase her own bakery. That attitude is shaken after she almost hits an early -morning runner with her car, a fireman who is staying at one of the cottages at Hart Land. Realizing that he can’t care for himself with a broken wrist and sprained ankle she insists on taking care of Cole. There isn't much hotter than a hot fireman and this one is H.O.T. As hard as he fights being cared for by the lovely baker, she fights even harder to hide her attraction. He on the other hand sees little reason to hide his. Invasions by his friends are blast, and Lucy’s matchmaking machinations may not be funny to the Lily, but they are hilarious to others, including this reader. The presence of the delightful Hart family adds to the fun and hilarity. Great characters and a great time equal a great beach read.

Can I say how much, I am in love with the General. He reminds me so much of another lovable character, Nora Robert's Daniel MacGregor. Love of family is never in question, but behind closed doors, matchmaking is a favorite past time. His antics are as precocious as a child's, but his heart is always in the right place. Execution is a different matter. Now that Heather is settled, Lily is next on his agenda. Laughter is the sweetest balm for the soul. Keniston delivers humor, heart and hope with a special kind of charm.

Lily is an amazing baker and accident prone. Loved her!!! Cole is a victim of one of her accidents. The sisters and cousins are back. She feels inferior to her relatives and unseen by men. Cole definitely sees her but is hesitant. When they can finally be alone things start to change for them both. It is such a sweet romance. This is my favorite so far. I Voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
