Listen, Learn, and Love: Embracing LGBTQ Latter-day Saints: Embracing LGBTQ Latter-day Saints
The purpose of this book is to increase understanding. I invite all to increase trust in and develop a relationship with Heavenly Father, which will enable all to make thoughtful, faith-based decisions going forward. This is true of our LGBTQ brothers and sisters, their families, and Church leaders. We all have a place in the plan of happiness and I hope to provide a glimpse of that. But if for whatever reason, anyone decides not to stay, we can support them as they move forward with their lives rather than cut them off. We can keep the family circle together and leave the judging to our Savior and His perfect understanding.

About the Author

Richard "Papa" Ostler is a SLC native with a business and marketing background. He first became passionate about LGBTQ issues when he was called to be a bishop in a YSA ward. He interacted with many ward members in his office and also less active members via social media. As he "listened to understand," he saw the Church from the eyes of those outside. Some feel that the Church is their spiritual home, but feel uncomfortable attending for any number of reasons. This inspired his mission, both online and in writing this book. He and Shelia Juergens Ostler are the parents of six great children.
